Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Before he sees me, I take a moment to study the wolf who used to be my alpha. He looks so sad as he should. He lost his home, his pack, to a wolf he gave a home to. Weylin didn't offer him a place to stay when he won, I'm guessing, or Sulan would still be there in Glorall. I look over his wounds. He got beat up pretty badly but I saw Weylin when he got back. He didn't look too good either, especially the bite on his head. Sulan's head looks alright though. He looks so betrayed and my heart tightens for him. I wish him and Weylin could be friends again and he could come back to Glorall. But maybe he doesn't want to come back. Maybe that's why he left. He probably wants to be an alpha, not just a pack wolf. Some wolves are like that. I never had it in me to rule, just to help. I've been a Beta in just about every pack I've ever been in. It just kind of suits me, I guess. I don't like being under so much authority but being the right hand is my comfort zone. I have one, maybe two wolves above me and everyone else is below. Of course, if there's an heir, that adds a third but even so I'm fine as long as there's wolves who have to step back if I step forward.

I'm not a bully, don't get me wrong. I'd rather tell you to calm down before you get hurt over grabbing you by your scruff just cause I can. Weylin has seen fit to make me Beta of Glorall now and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Usually I have to work for the rank. I have to get to know my pack mates and do tasks for the alpha but I've yet to do anything of importance for Weylin. I joined the pack on a hunt on the beach and I'm waiting on D'Mani and another wolf to go to Iromar to teach D'Mani how to heal. I can't find them so I hope they didn't leave without me. Sulan finally looks up at me and tells me that he's okay. Then he apologizes. I step forward with a whine on my lips, shaking my head, my eyes wider. No, Sulan, you didn't fail me. You did your best and that's what counts. I'm just glad you're alright. Well, you're not alright, I can see that. But at least nothing critical. I offer him a gentle smile, wagging my tail while I wait for a reply.
