The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

The fae could just make out a smile upon the brute’s maw by the reflection of light on his pearls. As the brute raised his bodice to its full height, Athene smiled herself – the brute was a large lupine, one of the largest he had ever seen, but she felt comfortable in his presence. In the darkness, she saw naught but the glint of his teeth going up and down as the brute nodded. Then, my dear, why don’t we find this staircase? However, I must warn you, some of the ceilings are very low, and you may have to follow in single file as we go forward into the cavern. A quiet chuckle emitted itself from her maw as she thought about his words – if the brute could fit through, then she would surely have no difficulty (or at least less difficulty) in maneuvering herself through the cavern. As for travelling in single file, she planned on following the sound of his footfalls, not trusting her vision in the darkened abyss. Her audettes however, were very astute and therefore trustworthy. Athene watched as the glint of his teeth disappeared and heard his pads start moving away from her, so her own whitened haunches propelled her after him. Her stride was easy, as her long legs had no difficulty in keeping up with the brute’s pace. The hard cavern floor gave way to softened, wet and mushy mud.

Just as the brute had said, the ceiling began to drop. Though it did not touch her at first, she could tell by the way the footfalls’ echoing changed. The fae smiled – the brute was probably hunching as he walked now, but the fae was able to walk with her held high – the ceiling at its lowest place just barely grazed the tips of her audettes. But it soon gave way to an opening in the cavern, and the echoes grew farther apart – what they were standing in now had to have been massive. I am going to look along the outer edge of this cavern, and you can also do the same if it suits your fancy. The brute’s footfalls moved away from her once more and the fae moved in the directly opposite direction, keeping to the wall. Athene tested each step before fully committing to it, in order to prevent herself from falling into any ravines.

Suddenly, the fae paused. She felt her pelt move slightly, even after she had stopped her forward motion. It was a breeze… A smile alit upon her maw, she tilted her maw toward the ceiling and let loose a little howl, alerting Zev that she had picked up on something. Her haunches pushed her forward again, her step more brave as she followed the breeze, and as she travelled forward, the breeze grew stronger, until her audettes finally picked up on a slight whirring sound. She pressed her coat against the cavern’s wall, not caring if it dirtied her coat, when suddenly, she fell into where the wall had been. She had found the entrance…
