Loki’s eyes narrowed, as if in contentment, as he watched the female approach him. Green eyes took in her black and red markings, noting the confidence that she presented herself with, one which he mirrored well. Brave or foolish, she though him? He simply smirked at her, not deeming that enough of a comment for an answer. He did not shift his position at all as she stopped some distance from him. He knew he could still spring to his feet if she did decide to attack him. Everyone gave something away before they did attack – a slight muscle twitch, a quick glance. He knew what signs to watch for. Would he be completely prepared? Of course not, but he knew how to handle himself in a fight.


When she spoke again, closer this time, he kept the smirk on his face. Beautiful sounding creature, this one. Beautiful looking too, if he might say so. Which he wouldn’t.


“I, my dear, am Loki.”


He paused for a second, deciding to rise to his feet, lean legs gracefully pushing him off of the dry leaves left over from the fall. He was slightly shorter than her and definitely weighed less. Still, his body was relaxed, as though he was a giant and she a speck of dust.


“And, if I may return the question, who the hell are you?”


He spoke in a relatively soft voice, rather than a harsh one, words rolling in a way that practically seemed as though he was trying to seduce her. He was and he wasn’t, truth be told. He was simply a flirt with everyone. Wordplay could be quite a form of entertainment if no others presented themselves.
