aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Leila’s spheres were closed, her pools of fire concealed from view. She laid resting, paws immersed into the verge of the water. In a dreamlike state, the lady of bliss did not hear the disorder or register the scent of company. It only dawned on her when a pressure of pinching was applied upon her ear. Her eyes flashed open, head pulled towards the ground before the young pup rebounded onto the floor with a thump. Although Leila had been surprised, her eyes possessed amusement at the pup’s antics. Being only a young adult herself, Leila did not mind the liveliness of pups and occasionally some wolves. Her pools of fire were now on full display, looking down at the pup that was starting right back at her with a stubborn expression arranged on his face. She elevated her paw and gently bashed against his flank like she had observed many adults doing before. Leila did not have the greatest of maternal skills; she was determined to make friends however – no matter how young or how old they were. And though she pup could not match her on intelligence (so she guessed) or speed, it was always humorous to listen to pups responses.

“And who, young wolfling, might you be?” The phantom enquired, her maw broadened into a wide and what she hoped was a reassuring smile. Leila rose, hoisting her bodice into the air before settling on her rump. Her eyes settled upon the small bodice of the pup, she could tell that he would grow into a fine adult in terms of strength. He was a young, timber wolf with a variety of colours; whites and grey but also the mixture of brown. Her orange optics passed his bright, vigorous eyes. They were a vibrant blue, almost the opposite of her own; fire and water. One of the elements…

“I am Leila,” she stated, her head bowing down slightly. Her nose quivered as she absorbed his unique scent. She noted, silently, the soft fragrance of Kalgalath brushed against his pelt and the fragrance of another. She smiled gently. She was curious to know where he had originated from and whether his parents were in Aurora Borealis, unless of course he was an orphan… The thought caused a frown to filter through his barrier of smiles. Leila hoped he wasn’t, but it was the destiny of some unfortunate pups. She would never let anything of that kind happen to her pups – that was if she ever had any. She did not have many desires of pups; the thought of giving birth was enough to produce shivers rippling through his body. Leila knew however that his pack would serve the pup well; it had many members willing to support a pup’s life as it grew.
