Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

War Wolf

It’s particularly hard for a wolf like me, to run, But I have to do it every morning and I do it. I do train every morning and this is what makes me different from all the other wolves. I keep observing this strange ivory one in front of me, he seemed constantly annoyed by something, I hardly know what and I won’t ask, it’s not something that I care. I told him that speed would never be my strength and he commented… telling me that indeed I would never be good at that. I chuckled as he told me that I have a precious “little” time left. He really think so? That I am so old? I feel pretty much alive and great, I don’t think that my time will end so soon. Strange… Does my appearance show my age so much? I’m one of the most perfect wolves upon this earth. He then, says that he has to “thank” me for the lack of elderly wolves here. Am I really so old? Or they are all too young?

- I has 18 years old… - A chuckle escaped my muzzle - I am so old?

I introduced myself, telling him my name. He seemed kind of curious for a moment, growing thoughtful. I let him think for that moment… He chuckled at my question about me being afraid of him. Should I be afraid of him for some reason? He told me that my pack mates were afraid of him. I wanted to know why. I could turn this supposed fear to a mere myth. His next words drawing another chuckle from me. Afraid of him later? His potential to be terrifying?

- All right… Your potential to be terrifying…I shall pretend being terrified…

I don’t remember the last time I’ve been terrified. It’s not been recent, of this I am sure. He had revealed to me that my name is familiar. Oh! Is my legacy so great ? Am I known in so many places? Perhaps not, he just said my name is familiar, I cannot help but be proud of my name. Ears pricking forward as he answered to my question about our pack. He said it wasn’t really a war. That we had the fault for capturing their wolves with no purpose. No purpose? It’s not right, there is always a purpose, isn’t there? A brow lifting in clear doubt of his words. He told me then that they tend not to like cannibals and Iromar is filled with them. Well, I haven’t seen a single one there. I may be mistaken. I will have to see. He tells me then that they like to target his children. Well, now that is a true reason. But we must have a reason for be “targeting” his children and he apparently doesn’t know the reason for that. But suddenly he changed the subject, asking me if I have a daughter. My head tilted in curiosity.

- Yes, I have more than one daughter. Steyah , Jay and Zen. But they all are far from here.

I told him, there is no reason to hide. All my daughters are very far away. My Zen left me before she could complete her training as the next alpha Queen after Sulan disappeared. Hm… Sulan… The shame of the family. He finished his training, but he never managed to beat me. But why he asked me about my daughters?
