At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Blindness had only enhanced Dai's ear and sense of smell, so she knew the other wolf was coming long before she spoke. So she was still writhing and violently fighting against the root when she came near.

The voice was gentle and sympathetic, but Dai growled in the back of her throat at the dark blur of fey above her. It was a horrid, strangled sound, but it was as threatening as she got nowadays, despite the uncaring, kill-me-now quality. But another quick look at the other fey gave her the strength to wrench her paw free, and she winced as she felt the flesh tear.

An open wound only make her seem worse off, and she needed anything but sympathy. That led to others trying to help her with things that could not be helped, and that only turned to more hatred and disgust. Dai almost preferred the ones who found her disturbing from the beginning; they were easier to run away from.

Dai spun wildly, searching for darkness before choosing a random direction that would lead her towards the dark blurs that meant tress, and limping off as fast as she could. She eventually felt the soft prickle of a bush against her side, and turned into it, surrounding herself in the branches.

She kept her auds perked until she recognized the identical rhythm of footfalls from earlier and sighed.

"I-I'm Dai. Please, j-just l-leave me...
Her voice rang true, sweet and high, but twisted with pain and sorrow. And she almost cursed herself, she was only luring this Blaze, or whoever she was, to her, not sending her away. So she lowered herself down, curling around the center of the bush and hiding beneath its leaves.

OOC: sorry this post was a bit rough... I wrote it in a hurry.
