Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

these people keep to themselves,

Was there no greater joy than the simple pleasure of being in a bubble of peace while the whole world around you waged some unspoken war? In d'Mani's mind, that was definitely the case. Glorall knew that many fought for the ocean side pack - apparently, according to the whispers, the old Surgeon - Sinopa - had even tried her luck. d'Mani found it almost ironic that an Angel, something Weylin had spoken out against more than once, seemed so excited to take up the role. Maybe they were all right, huh? Maybe that Heyel fellow had spawned so many children so that each of them could rule a land all to themselves? Let them all fight and squabble for she was totally content to simple linger about with this newcomer - it was comforting. The only thing to bring her away from that serenity was the girl's question, the skepticism that laced it - d'Mani chuckled, light and airy as she shook her head slowly.

"Trust me, we have not killed nor chased them away. She returned to her ancestor's homeland - I cannot say it is too common. It seems some just have more to go back to than others."

She shrugged then, frowning briefly in thought before sighing quietly. She couldn't work out if she envied Leviathan or not - it would have been nice to have somebody to run away with at times but where the hell would she run to? With Weylin's unfortunate end, she imagined more would leave in due time unless somebody hurried up and took the reigns - why the hell didn't that Pan follow take up arms? He was the late King's prodigy was he not? Then again, she doubted he had any real experience besides talking a lot of big words... urgh, it was taking too long. Apparently the peace couldn't last so long as her own mind was out to cause her strife, dammit.

"Don't be sorry - he died ruling, died fighting and went back to the ocean that he loved so much. I didn't know him too well but he served us well."

There really wasn't all that much she could have said on the matter. Weylin had been a good king, yes, and he had helped her find not only a home but a rank of sorts but he'd always been... distant for lack of a better word. The hunt had been their first pack activity and it had ended in a way that none of them could have imagined. Fate worked in strange ways, ways she knew none of them would ever understand. It was moments like that, that she wished she had listened better to her father's stories - they would have had an answer for it all.

With a flick of her tail and another flash of a toothy grin, she moved along side Alana as the smaller girl took small steps forward - she kept her distance, not wishing to brush too closely to a half she did not know. She'd never really been the nervous kind but who knew? There were rumors of demons and whatnot and well, you could never trust anybody. If you couldn't even trust fate and the universe to take care of you, why would you trust another living thing? They were all at the mercy of some great cosmic plan or whatever.

"Say, have you ever seen the ocean? Not many have - come, I'll show you. We won't get too close to it though in case, you know... we end up with the King."

Bad, bad humor, a dark kind she'd never be able to shake as she took off a slow jog, her mind fast tracking their route though ensuring they got a look at the best bits of Glorall; the river that rushed towards the ocean with a glimpse of the island situated not so far from the mainland. It would take them some time to arrive at the ocean but when they did, she would take Alana to the great dunes and watch out over the endless rolling blue. No words had to be said - she found so many were absolutely dumbfounded by such a sight. Even she would stand with a puppy-like grin, her eyes full of admiration. She'd been born in the sand and she could only hope that one day she would be taken back to the ocean as Weylin had - just not so soon.

all living in their own hell
