aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

The first of his pack members to arrive was the ever helpful Magic. She had aided multiple times over, including in finding his lost protégé who Kalgalath had had to leave years ago. Kalgalath; it is great to see you once more now standing proud for the pack meeting. Kalgalath dipped his head to her with a large smile upon his maw. It was true – the last time that the entirety of the pack had been in the meadow was when the vote had occurred. The pack had come a long way since then. “I am glad you came, Magic. Thank you for everything thus far. You and your family are soon to be rewarded for your loyalty. Are Glitch and Fyryra also on their way?” The mottled brute had ran into her mate, but their newly adopted daughter had been evading his sight. It was because of this that he dearly hoped that the two missing members of her member would soon arrive. The brute then noticed that the fae had not flinched at the sunlight, and his smile grew. “I see you have renewed your relationship with the sunlight, hmm? I am gladdened by it. While the night is indeed a beautiful thing, the day has its wonders too.

The next to arrive was Chiron – the brute had been a very active member in the pack, and had been very helpful. He nodded a greeting to Magic before turning to Kalgalath to address him. It is a pleasure to see you again Kal. Has all been well with you?It is quite a please to see you as well, Chiron. All has been indeed been well – the pack has grown in leaps and bounds. I am glad that I was able to bring it back to life.” The Alpha had been about to ask the brute if he also had been well, but just then another member had arrived. The second blackened fae, Chenzii, had patted her way to Chiron’s side, nuzzling the brute and brushing against him. Hello my love. Her voice was but a whisper, but Kal’s finely tune auds picked up her vocals just barely. A knowing expression came over the mottled grey’s face, glad that the pair had found love with each other. Kal’s thoughts drifted back to the fae he had once loved, the one who had arrived so unexpectedly at his borders announcing that he was actually a father. And it travelled to another fae, one who was a member of his pack… Hello Kalgalath it is good to see you. And you again Magic. Kalgalath’s thoughts travelled back to the present at the sound of Chenzii’s vocals and he nodded in greeting to her. “I was unaware you two had fallen for each other, but I could not be happier. Congratulations, Chenzii. Chiron.

H…Hi Kal. A tiny, nervous voice caused the Alpha to turn his gaze, a small grey pup coming into his optics. “Hello, Destan. Thank you for coming.” Kalgalath kept his voice soft and gentle, not wanting to frighten the pup any. The little one dipped his head quickly before his gaze dropped to the earth. Hello Kally, The mottled grey brute cringed as he turned to yet another eboness, his lids slitting themselves as his good friend came to be seen. Her vocals were warm and sweet and Kal found that he could not even pretend to continue irritation. The easy smile returned to his maw. Has your day been pleasant so far? He nodded in response. “Aye, beauty, it has been. What happened to keeping the nicknames secret. It’s embarrassing!” His vocals were joking – nicknames were fine between friends, and everyone present were friends as far as he was concerned. Leila turned herself away from the brute, smiling just so before lowering her bodice to her haunches next to Destan, who she greeted warmly.

Just then, a feminine form broke through the treeline in a run and came into view, and Kalgalath felt his breath catch in his throat. She slowed her stride and smiled at the wolves present as she neared the group, a small sound escaping her maw. Not a whine, but a sound of contentment, almost purr-like. And then he gaze fell upon him and his plume began to sway, gladdened that the fae had at long last returned from Saw Tooth. Kal. You’re looking well. How have you been? The ess moved to the brute’s side, her paws raising onto the boulder that he stood upon so that she could rub against his shoulder, and the brute was surprised as a shock of electricity ran through its veins, just like it used to under Nika’s touch. A pang of guilt coursed through him, that she popped into his mind in Zig’s presence, but with the fae at the border… it was difficult to deal with. Zig form slowly dropped so that she was standing upon the grass with all four pads. “I am better now that you are back.” His dep baritone hushed to a soft tone, his arctics boring into the fae fondly before he coughed, mixed emotions confusing his mind. The brute let loose his vocals once more, this time so that the whole pack would be able to hear them clearly. “Tell me and the pack what news you bring from Saw Tooth, Zig. I trust the meeting with Moth went well?

The little ball of fluff that so reminded him of Aindreas arrived next, pulling a strong smile from his kissers once again. Her tiny plume swayed strongly as she spoke. Hello! It’s nice to see you again! The pup then introduced herself to Zig, and the brute watched the pair carefully waiting to see how the fae would react; he had not seen how Zig was around pups. The faeling then made her rounds around the circle, greeting others full of happiness and an eager attitude, before she settled next to Destan and rubbed against him, and it was there that she stayed. The next wolf to arrive caused his large grin to wither slightly. Though Hellene had made no wrong moves, she had yet to prove her loyalty to the pack as of yet. She settled between Destan and Khaleesi, as she had at the pack hunt. Hello, Kal. I apologize if I am late.No need to apologize, Hellene. You are not late, the day is still young.” The brute tried to keep the tone of his vocals kinder than the tone in which he had conversed with her in the past. Eventually, he would have to give her the benefit of the doubt.

And finally, King Kong arrives, moving silently to a spot and dipping his head to Kalgalath respectively. Kal dips his head to the dark brute and then inhales, anxious to begin, but there were still a few wolves absent from the meadow who he would wait for before starting his speech.

But now the brute revealed a surprise. He temporarily jumped down off of the ledge of the boulder and picked up a small form from behind the boulder, carrying her form into the middle of the circle. "I found this newborn pup by Staircase falls. I gave her a little of my stomach contents to keep her nourished and warm. But since she had no colostrum she needs something to boost her immune system. I was hoping one of you would know some herblore?" His gaze traveled to each of the adults slowly, hoping, begging for one of them to step forward.
