Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

It rolls off of her in waves and inwardly I cringe. I did not mean to scare the poor thing but it seems that I have failed in that endeavor. She stammers, her voice small and near shrill with nervousness as she tells me her name. Riopat. It rolls within my mind as I tuck it away for future knowledge. I nod. All too aware of her body and the tremble that assaults it. Yet I am at lost, I do not know how to soothe her without scaring her more. I could command that she stop fearing me but let’s get real that will have no effect. Yet when I give her mind food for thought she seems to calm some as she is forced to think. A smile tugs at my lips when I think this. A smile that shatters as soon as she whines, the sound tugging at my heart.

She hurries to speak, her stammer less pronounced and to this I smile again. ”Very well Riopat. The fact that you have survived this long is very good. I do want you to learn and to grow into your talents however I do not want your area of expertise to be hunting. How about healing? Would you be interested in that? But do not be fooled, you will learn to hunt just like all the other young wolves within this pack and we will be here to help you each step of the way.” I hope I sounded gentle for I really wanted her to calm down. She seemed so scared and something told me that apprenticing her off to Sinopa will help the young girl. And then like a light bulb has came on she grins, telling me about how she survived and to this I smile wider, allowing my own tail to wag in friendliness. I did not miss how her own is tucked between her leg. Ah if only certain others submitted like she.

”You are young and with proper nutrition you will grow strong. Yes, I do think you can prosper here so yes young Riopat you are now part of Glorall. Forget that wolf for when we are done with you, he will eat those words.” Already I feel protective of her and want to hunt down the idiot who told he such a thing. But before I can ask who it was that told her a familiar scent washes the area and my tail wags more. My mate and a very tired Ravenwing approaches, my golden eye delving into her azure gaze and this time I do wince physically. She wanted to talk and it would not be good. I should be angry that she is even here at this moment but I hold my tongue. Especially since she is now turning toward Riopat and attempting to soothe her. My heart swells with love and just then the bouncing bundle of wolf named Mortz enters. I personally had decided to take the boy and teach him about fighting, however I was waiting to get both her and Everchime alone in order to speak about it.

The boy goes on in speech, causing a low chuckle to leave my lips as I lean into the warmth of my mate. Ravenwing plopping down in between my paws to watch the scene unfold yet I think he was more sleepy than anything. ”Hello again Miss Everchime and Mortz. It seems that Mortz knows her.” My eyes glisten with mirth before turning toward Riopat. ”Mortz Riopat is now a part of the pack, perhaps you would like to show her around? Maybe the two of you can even catch a rabbit because you know two mouths are better than one.” I say to the youngsters and after they are gone I turn to Everchime. ”I trust that you will watch over her as if she was your own. I also intend to take Mortz as my apprentice in the art of battle if you approve.” I watch her, reading her body language. I could have demanded it so but she was his mother and guardian so for all intent and purposes it should be ran by her.
