aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The Way of the Warrior

The white titan had only just learned that the brute who he felt so many different emotions for – rage, anger, betrayal, depression – the brute who had been his mentor after his foster mother had abandoned him, was actually his father. From his childhood with his mother and siblings, Aindreas remembered very little. Only that his mother had raised the three of them until they no longer needed milk, and then had told Aindreas that he had to find a different life. A different family. She never mentioned who their father had been, and so the white titan had taken to believing that he and his siblings did not have a father. Apparently… that was not true. Kalgalath, for all of his preachings of loyalty, had now abandoned Aindreas twice. The first time being before Aindreas and his siblings had even taken their first breath. He had finally had the opportunity to confront the brute, but after Aindreas had exploded onto the mottled grey Alpha, he had slumped off, back to Munashii Gekko to immerse himself in his role as Epsilon to take his mind both off of Kalgalath and off of Genisys. But then, as it turned out, she hadn’t left after all. She had met his brother Rohan, who informed him in none too many words that Kalgalath was his father. Aindreas’ heart was breaking as he had walked away from Genisys, and so had invited her on this wayward journey. He didn’t want to spend one moment away from her, and so was running in his mind what words he could say to her to try to convince her to stay.

As he neared the border, voices entered his auds, the vocals distantly familiar. I am here, my son. Forgive me. Aindreas’ hackles bristled, knowing that her vocals were not for him. They would never be for him. The snowy titan hid himself behind one of the old trees and waited, knowing that he was upwind of them so unless he showed himself they would never know of his presence. Jealous, he watched his mother embrace his brother before addressing Kalgalath. His father. Remember me, Kal? Think hard, you may remember them too. Kalgalath seemed honestly confused. How could I forget you, Nika… How did… When… Why did you leave me? Aindreas inhaled sharply. For some reason, he had always assumed that his father had left his mother. But we only… it was one time… Did you… I… I have children?

So that was it then. His mother had left his father. His mother had left him. And then his father had left him as well. Was he fated to be alone? Aindreas was at least partially relieved to find out that his father had not abandoned him twice intentionally. He then glanced to his sister, who addressed the issue. Are you our father? Kalgalath had affirmed the fact and confirmed Aindreas’ suspicions that he had been aware of his mother’s pregnancy. Aindreas…Nika…You didn’t only have twins, did you? Kalgalath had figured it out then, and it was clear the remorse in his voice. Remorse at what he had done.

It was then that Aindreas began to emerge from the trees, slowly though, as to not rush his entrance, and into his eyes came the fae who had first brought him back here, to Kalgalath. There had been so many misunderstandings… he had been overly cruel to her. He would keep it in mind to apologize to her. Well… maybe. More like he would remember to consider apologizing.

These wolves are every bit your children. Look at them, how could they not be? His mother had fallen silent then. My dear.. No, no there were three. Aindreas grinned grimly. That was a plus – at least she acknowledged his existence. Acknowledged their relation. Aindreas is your kin, as are my daughter, our daughter, Adara, and our son, Rohan. Nothing that I’ve done is any fault of theirs. You may hate me, but if you must, I beg you to do so silently. Like you, they are merely victims.I’m surprised you remember my name, mother. Considering you left me. Apparently just as you left him.” The snowy white titan glanced at Kalgalath, wondering if there had been a reason for Kal’s sudden disappearance all those years ago.

And then Rohan had spoken and Aindreas regretted his quick words that had been spoken out of anger. It seemed that Rohan had been wanting his full family just as much and Aindreas had been wanting family. Aindreas dipped his head in greeting to Rohan, lending him a small smile. He would never have known the truth if it hadn’t been for his brother… maybe he wasn’t so bad. And then he turned his arctics upon his sister, whom he had always been fond of, and he was still surprised at how many years had passed since he had seen her. Since he had seen his family. “How dare you come back, mother, speaking of family when you were the one who broke us all up!” His broken, rough voice filled the air with its rage as he moved to his brother’s side, expressing the same sentiments that Rohan had just said.
