Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Involvement was important, Ishtar had said, so he had gotten involved. Zaqar began by assisting the greeting of Haedes; he felt it had gone well. The next step was to accompany Lillith on an errand to Glorall. Here was another wolf he did not know well, though she did not instill the discomfort he felt while he was near Paldor. It was beyond him why she threatened him less; he knew that she was a lethal fighter and highly respected in the pack as Stygian. Still, something about her presence calmed him as they strode toward the sea – and Glorall.

Zaqar did not know the exact instructions given to Lillith, just that they were to visit the other pack and determine whether an allegiance could be made. He and Saqr were asked to come along, which was surprising considering that his older brother had very nearly broken the Diveen treaty. The yearling was unsure of the circumstances that had brought the Angel to Iromar, and asking was not his place. Though Saqr may be currently out of Ishtar’s favor, he was still older than Zaqar.

It was a further journey than he had expected. The distance was bearable due to the fact that much of the ground they covered was the spongy earth of Iromar. The sun was still hot, however, and he was panting by the time the salt began to sting his nasal passages. Despite this fact, he found the air here fresh and clean, and he admired the waves that swept across the blue sea. It was rather unfortunate, he thought, that his family had not settled here.

The three of them retreated into the shade, seeking a reprieve from the oppressive heat. Zaqar seated himself on Lillith’s right side and looked over the land with his spectacularly flecked eyes. Glancing once over at his superior, he quickly interpreted her silence and lifted his black face skyward to release a low howl for whoever the new alpha may be.
