At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The brute wondered what Athene said. He didn’t really understand what was on her mind. “I have to go, it’s my sister. I fear she’s left and I’ve missed her.” The brute looked up with concern as the fae struggled to rise off the ground. “Wait for me? I’ll return… you’ll see.” She then started to leave. “Wait, what?” The brute started to get up to go after her; he wanted to go with her. He finally rose from the ground and he turned his gaze, seeing the last flash of her pelt disappear into the trees. “Athene, wait.” He started to jump after her, in a hurry but still favoring his back leg. The brute started through the trees, trying to follow the creamy fae’s scent. He looked through the trees, his icy gaze trying to melt away the forest so he could find her. “Athene? Athene!” He jumped over a root that was almost too big for a wolf with a lame foot, and he almost tripped. The titan rose himself from the ground, his wound now unclotting. His auds flew back to his head, his eyes closed. The brute remembered that the fae said she would be back, so he stumbled back to the tree he was laying under.

Once he got back to the clearing at Staircase Falls, he put his back foot back into the stream so the blood would wash away once more. He saw a fish about to jump over him, so he bit down into the water where the fish was going to jump, and his teeth found wet flesh. It was a golden fish and it flapped around in his jaws before it went slack. He rose himself out of the water once more, the sun glinting down into the grass. His body bled with water from the falls, and he made his way back to the tree. Setting the fish down near it, he felt a new sensation he had not felt before. Longing? Emptiness? Zev didn’t know what to call it. Suddenly, the trees broke and Athene padded through into the clearing. Her ears were slumped forward and she hardly tried to not use her leg; her banner was tracing the ground and she was chewing something in her maw. He looked up at her, his icy gaze turning warmer. Zev watched as she put the green substance that was in her mouth onto his wound and she layed in the grass next to him. Her head was flat around his paws; her body was very close into pressing against his.

“She’s gone.” Using the clues from her other statements about her sister. Did she leave her behind? The brute suddenly felt angry. Somebody would want to leave her behind? The titan moved closer to her, his dark gray pelt pressing against her body. He didn’t want to push too close if she felt bad about it, but he needed to comfort her and he wasn’t going to let different feelings get in the way of that. His vocals lowered to a whisper. “We will find her. We will find your sister.” He waited for the silence to engulf them once more. Would talking help ease her pain? “If you feel like talking about her, tell me a little about your sister; talking a little bit will help you.” He waited silently for her to answer, feeling her pelt move with her breathing. The brute waited for Athene to speak, and he wouldn't mind if she didn’t speak at all or if she just wanted to sit and let her feelings escape her body.
