Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Matoaka has been a wonderer lately, though that’s not her normal game. She hasn’t been moving with a purpose, but today her steady gate has taken her to the mountains. She wanted to check out the lay of the land, staying longer in some places then others. Muscles moved under her coat as her medium frame took her up the mountain. She chose a well traveled path, as a challenge was not what she was looking for. She was more interested in what was to be seen and another place to say she has been to, as she was unsure what this area, Blossom as a whole, was to offer her quiet yet. It seemed to be filled with many wolves, young and old, with many different pack personalities. She took a mental note to learn a little about each one later.

Lost in her own mind, she found herself on a grassy plateau, mixed with gravel as dark as the top of her pelt. It was a mountain after all, gravel from broken down loose rocks over time, no doubt, making this a stable place. The area was a medium size. Mostly the gravel grass mix, some patches all grass, overall a good place to hang out, she thought to herself. She trotted over to where the land ended and butted up against the mountain side again. She searched out an area with more grass then rock as she didn't intend to make her under white half as dark as her back. She lay on her side, shoulder propped up on the mountain side, head looking out towards the hazy covered land. It wasn't too think here, if you looked hard you could see blue skies and the forest below, it was nice really. A light breeze wrapped around her coat. Cool enough to be comfortable, not frigid, unlike what would await higher above.

Her attention at the woods allowed her to notice a multi colored wolf, appearing young, make his way out and up the mountain, testing it as he went. He took a tougher path, unlike the one Matoaka came across, she would make a note to not go that way unless she wanted a more complicated way down later. She continued to watch him, fairly certain he had not seen her, as she was still quite a way up and he was focused on his task at hand. When he stopped on a small ledge, it placed him slightly up wind of her location. She raised a dark nose to the air, a light sniff gave the inclination of a pack, but then it was gone just like that. “Faint” she thought to herself, maybe an old smell. Perhaps he was once and now is not, a question that could yield many answers. His location, in comparison to hers, was if she was in a living room, he would be down a long hallway, medium ledge with a couple of “steps” down to his ledge. The rocks that made up the steps up to her level, there was a handful, but sturdy then those he made his way up, like it was a solid path for some time. Once up, the path (long hallway) was thick enough for a wolf, but nothing more, still considered a thin ledge, then her area, pleasant green even among the gravel. She decided he, like her, was perhaps running solo. Not a strange thing to her, as she was his age and younger when she ran solo, but then again she couldn't remember much about her past.

She shook her head, enough on the past. She learned her muti-colored head back, closing her eyes. A deep breath relaxed her features, a impression of contentment upon her face. Her sharp blues opened to peer out once more. This time she looked up, the mist forming to mix and blend with the clouds higher above her. Any land up there was mostly likely cold, she would avoid that for now, she was in no mood to shiver. Choosing to lean her weight forward, she pushed off the mountain side, to lay paws forward on the grass. Auds swivling, nose beneath her crossed snow white paws, she closed her eyes for a moment, keeping a listen around her.
