It had been a long, tiring day of speaking to many and surely he would pay for it the next day. Luckily, he had met with his Caligula and daughters before they had reclined to the den, giving his daughters a run down on just who would be teaching each of them come the spring. Hopefully that would keep them occupied enough so that he could have a day of rest and time spent with his mate - one could hope, at least. Soon, that'd be something even more difficult to obtain. Spring was fast approaching and Caligula's sides had become more rounded, the subtle movement of life shifting beneath her skin. He was thankful in those moments that Chickadee had decided to live among them - it was comforting to know that she might be able to help if something were to go wrong. For all his worth, he'd never felt more helpless than when his mate had bled out over the den floor in the Crags.
For now though, he had one last thing to tend to before he could spent the rest of his day fretting over the possibility of such a thing happening once more. He had intended to meet with Rogue last but his curiosity had gotten the best of him. Having been lounging about with Caligula, he had finally departed, searching over the landscape for Rogue's familiar scent. It wasn't long before he found it and yet, he followed it in the most peculiar direction. Rather than being central like many of the other scents and den, he followed it out towards the northernmost border - that was strange in itself but he could not blame her. The view was quite spectacular, with Diveen only a stone's throw away. He had never noticed how close the pack was and as he loped down the river's edge, he could not help but stare across in thought. Perhaps he would need to situate more wolves on the northern front. Leaving themselves open in such a way could be to their detriment - he would need to thank Rogue for that.
It was when he jogged around one of the bends did he find her, the scarlet of her fur all too visible. He grinned to himself, barking once to inform her of his approach before his tail arched up, waving and bouncing slowly behind him.
"Rogue. I hope you aren't too busy. I'd like to talk now."
He called out to her before narrowing in, coming to a stop some feet from her. If she were busy with her apparent... small den, then Tesseract would simply aid her in finishing the job faster. Now that he was here, he had no intention of leaving - still, he tilted his head, looking at the too-small home she had apparently chosen.
"Why here? Diveen is so very close. Are you not afraid of them coming to finish the job?"
He raised a brow, motioning to the puckered flesh over her muzzle and neck with an expectant gaze. It had not gone unknown to him, the war, and he could not help but wonder if her closeness was out of defense, the potential for herself to attack or some other reason entirely. He would have liked to imagine it was to protect of the borders and yet... he could not help but think otherwise.
