Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

Mae watched Terrel’s features soften as she told him of how she’d visited Channing with some meat to inquire after her health. Although the male had left his affection for his adopted mother was painfully clear and almost made the femme question why he’d left in the first place. She knew it was for the best, for him to learn about himself, even if she privately hoped that one day he’d choose to return to Saw Tooth. She didn’t know his thoughts on his future, but she sorely missed his presence in the pack and should he decide later to return would welcome him back gladly.

“You’re welcome,” she told him, “It was nice to meet her properly.” The quick touch of his snout to her shoulder strengthened the smile on her face and made her heart flutter slightly. Now that Terrel was here she felt the urge to bury her own snout into the fur of his neck in fear that he might disappear, but resisted the urge and instead stole the occasional touch to his cheek or neck in response to his own gestures. She did so now, nudging back against the side of his muzzle with hers as she responded to him.

As their conversation took a turn to that of pups, Mae vaguely noticed that the day was moving on from the glorious sunset. The first few rays had merged and the top of the sun was now climbing into view, a beacon to dispel the dark stillness of the night. Daily activities would begin in earnest for most wolves and their prey now, while the few nocturnal animals which held no interest for the femme would be scurrying away to hide from the light and the creatures it awoke. For Mae, one of the creatures of daytime, this transition held little meaning on this morning for she was already awake. It simply meant that on returning to the pack she’d likely be faced with fellow pack mates, awake and going about their day. The exciting prospect of meeting new pack mates paled in comparison to spending time catching up with Terrel.

Mae’s ears were drawn back a little in embarrassment as she confessed her feelings about the pups to the male, mostly due to not understanding where the maternal instincts had suddenly come from. She chuckled lightly and wagged her tail at his good natured laugh as he said it was instinctive. No matter whether it was natural or not, it was still a new sensation and strange for her, reminding her ever so slightly of memories that seemed distant now; growing up as a pup, where each situation brought on a new instinctive reaction. “Either way,” she grinned, wagging her tail, “There’s no denying that the pups were very sweet.”

Channing having been their age surprised the femme, “I have a lot more respect for her now that I know that. I know I’d like pups in the future, but right now I’m not sure I’d know how to handle it.” A slight expression change to that of a frown came over her at the mention of Abendrot. She’d heard rumours of the fate of one of the litter, but Terrel’s words had fully confirmed them. “So it’s true then,” she asked carefully, “One of the litter is to be taken? I suppose we just have to hope that when the time comes the pup will be old enough to recall its parents, or that their influence now sticks with it even if Abendrot mould its personality to act like them.” It was probably a fantasy-like hope, but perhaps one day mother and pup would be reunited. It was a comforting thought, if nothing else.

The pair sat for a short while as a natural lull came in the conversation. With others it may have been awkward, but Mae was prone to silence more than the average wolf and felt relaxed in Terrel’s company, so the quiet provided more of a comforting atmosphere than anything else. A yawn escaped her in those few moments, her eyes closing and ears drawing back as her tongue curled out of her maw and she released a barely audible, involuntary whine. With a snap her jaws shut again and she shook her head a little to bring her focus back to the multicoloured brute. She wasn’t tired, having had a good rest the previous night, but her body was reacting to getting up and moving earlier than usual.

As her gentle gaze focused back on Terrel he enquired about exploring, wearing a charming smile that Mae reacted teasingly to. “Very well,” she obliged, standing. She turned away from the ledge and walked in the direction of the other ledges, where they might find gaps to jump or caves to look through. She was close enough to duck her head under his chin, before brushing the left side of her body against his front. She swept forward past him in a slender movement, then as she balanced mostly on her right front paw, flicking her tail over his cheek, swivelled her head to look him in the eye again, “Lead on, kind sir.”

OOC: I got it done for when I said I would :D hope you like :3
