Walking along was something that Dimas seemed to do more and more often. His heart still ached from the beauty that he had seen and then had vanished, but the ache was lessening now. Either that or he was getting used to it. He still longed for that feeling again though. How could you find your soul and then live without it? It was a question he had been asking himself often. Still, as the seasons changed, Dimas found himself growing more and more listless rather than better. He had no bonds here, no reason to keep him here, so why was he here? For lack of anything better to do, he supposed.


Today, his wanderings had taken him to the high-grassed fields that surrounded the lake. When he emerged from the grasses near the gathering, he felt his heart drop into his stomach. This was it. This was how he had found the beauty before. He knew she would not be here. In his heart, he knew she was long gone from these lands. Still, he could not help but scan the wolves before him, looking for her beautiful coat. No, she was not here. He composed himself, resigned to the fact that he would never feel that pull again. Still, he was lonely. He missed the company of the pack he had grown up in. It wouldn’t hurt to make some new friends. And so his paws stepped out on to the soft turf of the beach, his tail wagging pleasantly behind him.
