Blood adorned his maw and down the front of his throat. It covered half his face on the side with less white, interestingly enough. Like he had rubbed his face into the very corpse whose blood he'd feasted upon, whoese throat he'd torn open before moving to the chest cavity to grasp at the stilled heart to squeeze it dry. His jaws had gain his father's strength, the density of bone structure that allowed the breaking of ribs to easily get to the fragile organ. Covet did not like to waste time going up and under when there was less blood getting there. No need to do something when there wasn't much in it for him. He was a selfish sort of creature, after all.

He wandered through his old home, the place he had left and returned to. A year. He'd been gone a year or so and now so much had changed. Life went on without him, but he was often the creature on the outside looking in. He did not feel upset by the changes. He was curious as to his offspring and their mothers, he wondered if anyone knew of him, really knew, and if Fathom had given anything away. Malina wouldn't, he knew that. She had too much to lose; high angel letting a demon touch her? A child of Jaidah, no less? Speaking of mother dearest -- he cared nothing for her though -- he wondered of Tobias, and what it might be like to face the creature. They would both aim to kill, wouldn't they?

Covet smiles at the thought, his snake-like movements around the trees a fluid type of grace. The craigs would always be his home of choice; where so much had started, where so much had happened after the start. Where he had gained his first and last taste of pleasure that had nothing to do with so much flowing blood. So far. Who knew where life would go from here? He would still search out the weak to rip into when the need was too much to bear, and he would always wonder when his pretty angel would come for his head and what he would do at that point. Yet how could she justify killing him when she had risked bringing more of his kind into the world? They would have to find out if it was so eventually..
