The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Trying to Forget the Past, This Was Never Meant to Last

The black ess followed her identical colored friend, their paws falling silently through the forest as they walked towards their destination. The two femmes reached the border of Abendrot’s lands and the two sat down. Magic sat first and Chenzii came to her side, sitting in silence next to her friend. The pair waited and it was not long before they were joined by another lupine. Chenzii’s yellow eyes fell upon a white titan coming out from the trees, heading towards the two waiting at the border. She could only assume that this was Kershov, the alpha of Abendrot. The brute walked with power and dominance and Chenzii knew she would never want to be on his bad side.

Chenzii rose as the brute approached and she saw Magic do the same out of the corner of her eye, her gaze never leaving the approaching lupine. The femmes stood tall, but respectfully as Kershov reached them and spoke, “And to what do I owe the pleasure of your company tonight, emissaries of Aurora? We were not expecting you . . .” Before Chenzii had a chance to respond Magic had already opened her maw to answer, “I must apologize; we did arrive very unexpectedly. I am Magic, this being my partner Chenzii.” Chenzii nodded respectfully to Kershov when Magic introduced her and Magic continued her speech. It suddenly occurred to Chenzii that the two had not come up with a plan on how they would get information about the potential new alphess. She doubted that Kershov was the type to just give information about his pack away.

Magic must have already formed a plan in her head as her words continued, not a single pause while she spoke. “We have come to explore on an issue Aurora has encountered. A wolf in our midst was gone missing, his whereabouts we are still uncertain of. I must apologize again. This wolf...he is...peculiar. He has unfinished business back at Aurora, and he must not escape again. I am sure he would not be honored enough to come here in your mysterious land, but we still have to make sure he has not dared to do so. Now, we must ask that we could search the area for his traces? Of course, it could be under your supervision; anyone who would do something unintellegent in your presence clearly has not had any source of a predicament. With your permission and guidance, we ask simply to walk through your territory.” Magic stood taller with her last words, showing strength, but not in a threating way. The femme was smart, the lie believable. She could only assume it was a lie as she had not heard of any wolf that had gone missing from Aurora Borealis, but Chenzii went along with it, not batting an eye. Chenzii did not think her speech was necessary, but she stood tall next to her friend, watching for Kershov’s reaction to her request.
