Someone is leaking. The smile that lights up my masked face is nothing short of dark and completely made up of nightmares, the type that would have the skin peeling back from another's body just to get away from that look. Blood on the ground, potential for duty, prospects to feed the savage beast in me. I follow the coppery trail, the red in the snow making it easy for me to keep track of the whereabouts of the wolf who made the thing in the first place. I have followed this trail for a while now, my long stride eating up the distance between myself and my quarry, a monster clad in white and black. I am a truly large female, though my stature is balanced out and I am saved from looking manly by the supple curves of my body. I am Death's perfect blade. I am Soul's bane. Both parents are gone now, their age having given them to the very reaper they launched into being. The blizzard is currently of no consequence, my large frame having been made for such arctic blasts as these, the only problem is the blinding snow. Snow tamps down all scent, and nearly blinds as I track by sight alone. Though the red marks are quickly being covered by snow, it is the only way I have to track the injured beast.
I am close, I can feel it, that sense that tells you something is just ahead. But, what greets my bright eyes is not one, but two wolves. They are mismatched in height, one far shorter than the other, an odd pair to be sure. I lay low as I watch the taller wolf search for anything behind the short one, and I wonder if perhaps my senses had been wrong about the age of the wolf. The smaller one looked like a pup next to the large one, who could be about my height. I watch them for a while, seeing how they interacted to check for any kind of bond. The little one I am not so worried about, the larger wolf could give me a run for my money. She seemed about my build, though her fur was far darker than mine. I hid in plain sight, my bright neon eyes reflecting white and my mask looking every bit like blackened stone as I lay my white bodice down. Observation is how you determine weakness, you must watch the suspected and make certain they are truly sub-par. It's not an easy job, keeping the wolf species clean of imperfection and weakness, but it is an easy thing to find.
The taller wolf leans against the shorter companion – as I can only assume they know one another, by the way they act – pointing out his weakened paw. This pair acts and looks so strange, it makes me pause in my hunting. Perhaps, I will delay this time, for truly this shorter wolf has only cut his paw, and I hunt out the sickly, weak, and old. Lucky day, wolves, you get the bright side. I move up, large paws crunching in the newly fallen snow, materializing it seemed out of thin air. I give a gentle smile, deceiving as it may be. ”Could I be of some assistance?” Relieve you of your burden, perhaps? I wave my white plume behind me, feather soft fur streaming in the wind as I wait for a reply from them, putting on a friendly air. They don't need to know me, or my true purpose here. Not yet.
