Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Why did it have to be so cold? The snow hadn't fallen for a few days and already most of it had cleared from the forest floor. A storm was due any day now to litter the ground with more of the horrible white stuff, but it seemed it would not be this day as the sky above was clear and the sun shined bright. All in all it was a beautiful day, but Ieron was in a foul mood. Why was it so damn cold!? Not for the first time, the tri colored male shook his short fur in the hopes that it would warm him up but a gust of chilled air made his nose quiver. He hated winter. In the desert land where he had grown up the coldest is got was at night but it would always warm up when the sun came up. His fur was made for the heat of the sun, not the bitter winters of this new land. As first impressions went, Moladion was not doing a great job.

Ieron had heard of this place some months ago when he was banished from his desert pack. After his brother had left, the little bastard, the eldest thought it was best to try and take the weight of the pack off his father's shoulders. Dear old Dad didn't take that very well and after a fight he proved he was still strong enough to overpower his son and chased him away. Ieron tried to go back only once and when his mother and sisters even barred their fangs at him, the wolf knew it was time to find somewhere else. Perhaps it was for the best. After all, Ieron was tired of being a submissive brute to a weakening king. In the world it was survival of the fittest and those not strong enough to take care of themselves were less than the dirt under his paws. It was time Ieron found wolves who thought like him and perhaps even start a pack of wolves the world would know about.

He had heard of Moladion in passing. It was a land punished by the gods and yet the wolves there had managed to survive even when the sky had fallen upon them. Interesting. That had been summer. When Ieron finally reached the fabled land... it was dead winter. With a growl in his chest, he moved about in the snow until it had thawed enough to allow for better movement. And here he was now, walking aimlessly through the deep woods close to where he had first entered Moladion. It was quiet, but every now and then a small animal searching for food would bolt away from him to a nearby den. Ieron smirked. He was not on the hunt so he did not waste any energy in a chase, however it did not appear he was alone in these woods. Not too far away he saw a strangely colored wolf trying to pounce on a plump rabbit, but thanks to Ieron's heavy paw steps the little creature skittered away to safety.

The new wolf turned and glared at Ieron with a dark growl oozing from his lips. This only made the older male smirk as he took a few steps closer. Ieron could already see from this distance that the darker boy was taller but it seemed they would be evenly matched if it came to a fight. "Don't blame me for your food getting away. If you hadn't stalled the little thing would be yours now. Gotta learn to be quicker."
