Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

goes the clock, we laughed at fate and mourned her, tick tock goes the clock even for the monster

Ayal was not the only one that held disapproval for the company they were in. It was not hard to miss from our scarred face Monster that this prissy pup was not delighted with her presence. Not once in her life did she care for seeking approval from others and she wouldn’t be starting now. Sapphire eyes shifted from the prudish pup to her half eaten meal. For once in this wretched new place she had hoped to enjoy her meal in peace without worrying about anyone bothering her. Apparently manners were not taught well here. Didn’t anyone know it was rude to walk up to a wolf when they were eating? She had half a mind to just attack this pup, if only so she would leave her alone. Her presence was not wanted or needed. Sinking her sharp teeth into the belly of the copper colored rabbit, she happily dug into her meal eating the rest of the meat that she could find. While taking her time in eating her tasty treat her half-torn ear would twitch when she picked up on the sickly tones of the other. With a soft snort she gave a low growl not bothering to give the girl such a quickly reply. She would have to wait a little while, after all one mustn’t talk with their muzzle in deep of their kill. Swallowing a morsel of meat she brought her head up, as cold eyes looked to the other. As her tongue slid out to wipe some of the blood off her muzzle a smirk appeared as her own dark cold tones dripped out.

“Non es angelo. Tue es a demon. Tu actus sicut daemon…Tu nimium habent Superba et non sufficit Venia.”
“You are no Angel…you act as a Demon…you have too much pride and not enough grace.”

She knew she caught a sore spot. In her travels she heard of these so called phantoms, Angels and Demons. As a loner you pick up on these things. Though the stories and news she picked up on, nothing good came from either kind, even though one claimed to be doing the right thing. There news relayed that both packs were constantly at each other’s throats for some stupid reason. Whatever the case was, other lands were destroyed because of their war. Whether the packs of Angels and Demons in these lands were what the stories were about was difficult to say since she didn’t know as much. But one thing can be for certain, based upon what she knew and the way the pup before her was acting…she was no Angel even if she claimed to speak their language. The ebony Monster didn’t know that the old wolf that raised her was an Angel. She just knew that the only way she could communicate was to learn this blasted language and this was the second wolf she ever had to use it on. Perhaps if she didn’t respond to her question the girl would have left her alone in peace with her meal. A pity she didn’t take this route. That deadly smirk remained on her bloodstained lips as she slowly got up. Thick ebony fur bristled as those hackles began to rise up. Dial was lifted high as both ears were now pointed at the pup. Standing in a non-aggressive way, her muscles remained taunt and at the ready should there be any reason for an attack. Her snarky retort remained laced with venom, content to put the girl in her place before she went off to catch her next meal.

“Instructus sum loqui ita, est quod non dubia?”
“I was taught to speak this way, is it not obvious?”

Obsidian pelt was trimmed with a light grey, almost silver like underneath the glow of the moon, seemed to shimmer as the callous creature moved away from the other. Her agile form was silent as she walked around the other, harden eyes narrowed as she looked the girl up and down. The stench on her echoed that she was a part of a pack and she was far from home. Seeing nothing of interest she snorted softly her tail held down in a bored fashion. Nothing impressive to see here. Shrugging her shoulders she turned her neck and head around tilting her head to the side in a curious fashion, or sarcastic tone vanished replacing it with subtle curiosity.

“Dic mihi adolescens, Sicarius Posuerunt debis occidit quot nostrum? Aut non sensit frigus lupi verbera cessent cor tamen?”
“Tell me young Assissan, how many of our kind have you killed? Or have you not felt a wolf’s heart stop beating cold, yet?”

Sweetheart, if you want to act as a plague upon this Earth and a creature to be feared…run away from Mommy dearest and your precious home…then come live with the real Monsters, see what it is you could never hope to become.
