During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

the wise wolf

Kohaku was pregnant. It was strange, that was for sure. Her lean body could feel it even before she showed the physical signs of it. The woman's stomach stretched unnaturally tight and she couldn't seem to relax the muscles themselves. She said nothing of it to her counterpart, as she had been almost fairly sure that it was a false alarm. Perhaps she had eaten something that didn't sit too well with her intestines a day or two ago. Nevertheless, the Valkyrie was now too careful with what she did ingest. However it was when the feeling did not go away after three days that Koh's view on the matter changed. It had not been too long since Nikandros had embraced her... But as all vargs have a gestation period of nearly two to two and a half months, no doubt her body was already preparing itself to house however many ankle biters their union would produce. Still Kohaku said nothing. She was not the kind to speak of her own discomfort. If it became too much, or if he found it out himself in the later weeks, the pale snow angel would definitely tell of the details to him. But not right now. There was no use to biting at the metal bit. There was no rush.

Of course, returning to Malignant was something that Kohaku would rather not do. Whether or not the crimson and charcoal monster that slept beside her knew of this thought of hers was unknown to the she wolf. When she did bring it up, it was decided that the duo would change location to more secluded areas. Perhaps less trouble would be caused for Queens this way as well; Aurora Borealis, after all, would probably not appreciate the fact that such disrespect had come from the borders of malignant and was still within it. It was a no brainer as to where they would travel to. Abendrot was probably too harsh of a pack... And for some reason, the Ice Kings "alliance" with Queens made Kohaku feel queasy for Nikandros. Even if he didn't care (and she took it that he probably didn't), she wouldn't want to be near someone who had done the do with her mother. Saw Tooth was out of the question. Such a kindly pack had too many wolves and smiles to go around. Besides, members of Malignant may be able to hide beneath a mask, but changing their ways was completely impossible... one cannot simply change their lifestyle like that... Spring Grounds fell in along with the likes of Saw Tooth... so here Kohaku was, pale form on the remnants of Munashii's borders. From what she had heard, the Alpha had taken on a youngling who was turned rags to riches. Apparently she had run away at some point in time... her heart lingering in other places besides that of Serris's care. It would be interesting to see what kind of an impact the heiress had put on the dark area...

The smell of markings was a faint one... though the she-beast was absolutely positive that it was still inhabited. After all, high above, a raven had taken flight away from deeper into the territory, its wings beating too furiously for it to be leisurely spending it's free time up in the frigid heavens still raw with snow. Resting her suns back on the other side of the boundary, she exhaled softly and set herself down gently, patiently awaiting the arrival of two creatures. Nikandros would no doubt be by her side soon... and then this Serris fellow would have to show up... She listened for the scarlet and ash tsar that accompanied her, her eavesdroppers picking up on the sounds others do not take the time to listen to. The rustle of wings as birds landed in trees... the sound of snow crunching underfoot... if and when he appeared, Kohaku would turn her head past her ivory cloaked shoulder blade and allow a small smile to tug at her lips.
