At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

It's been a weird past few weeks in Cold Summers. The pack lands have quieted down some after Odessa and Caspian have settled into their alpha roles. Odessa is fair and kind and I have no doubts that she will be a good leader for the pack for years to come. Caspian, I'm still a little questionable of, but he seems to have a genuine affection for his sister and mate, Sophia, so I can't distrust him too much. It's odd to me to have siblings mated but I'm starting to understand the way kalaks think when it comes to bloodlines. They want them to be pure and undiluted even if that means a little incest. Well its none of my business to judge and they seem happy so I'll leave it be. Sophia is very withdrawn and shy but she's a sweet soul and a good mother. I'm sure it'll be no different with her next litter. She looks like she's ready to drop any time now. I wag my tail in excitement for the occasion.

I make my way over the borders of Cold Summers, heading for the lake. It's been too long since I've ventured out of Cold Summers and its about time I get some fresh air. I enjoy spending time with my pack mates but its refreshing to meet new wolves every once in a while. I can't remember the last time I went over the borders. Maybe I'll get to meet some wolves I've never seen before. Maybe I'll strengthen ties with another pack or even invite a loner to my home. Cold Summers is as good a place to be as any in my opinion. It's better than being out here all alone.

I follow the well worn paths to the lake, picking my way carefully through the thickets until I can just make out the shoreline. I can smell the other wolves from here and I see flashes of different colors from where I walk. There are small groups of other wolves milling around chatting or just getting a drink before slipping back into the tree line. I make it out to the bank soon enough and gingerly make my way down to the water's edge. Reaching my head down, I take a few sips before looking around. My tail wags, letting others know that I'm friendly, my ears flickering all around to the others. I can see groups of pack mates and strangers alike and even an odd couple or two making a new acquaintance or closening bonds wiht friends.

As my golden eyes sweep the lake side, a figure stands out in my vision, causing me to pause, my lips faltering some in their smile of invitiation. A white wolf is by the shoreline, looking more nervous than any wolf has a right to be. He lingers by the water only long enough to drink and catch a fish before he retreats, his ears back and his tail tucked. Why is he so scared? I venture a little closer, my own tail low to the ground but still swaying side to side, my shoulders hunched and my ears forward as I try to appear as harmless as possible. The male backs off, his ears back and his hackles bristled. I can see his lips curling back, the whisper of a snarl on his breath. My eyes soften, a whimper escaping my throat as I lie down on the ground, lowering my head in a submissive manner.

"I mean you no harm. My name's Arwen."
