Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
I fell in love with a shooting star
IP: 24.27.101.126

It was simple on this coming evening. He was simply to sit and look out upon the land of Taviora, to look out onto the distant scenery of Moladion with his glimmering opal blue eyes. Soon he was to fall, to wake into another world that can be so similar, yet so different from this world. A world vast and vivid that he enjoys with as much zeal as he does in this place called reality. It was a consistent thing, and a never ending thing. It is the life of a Dreamwalker, and a life he has taken up in the pack lands far away from his home of Diveen.

There wasn't anything particularly important to do at this moment. It was a simple day turning into a simple night. He would simply take in the surroundings of the winter world. His mind does flash back, to that winter night when his father took down a tree for laughing at him. He smirks, a slight single chuckle. He knew his father didn't believe him. At least, the trees here didn't laugh. The birds though...the birds never seemed to stop.

As he sits upon a higher hill, he finds a yawn crawling to his throat. He opens wide, snapping his jaws shut. How long had he been sitting here? Where had the time gone? He pondered for a moment, his star-touched head tilting slightly when the scenery he viewed changed. Movement, near the border. He narrowed his eyes, trying to focus in on what exactly was coming this way. It was russet, a bright contrast to the winter world. A fox perhaps? He tilted his head the other way, focusing in to see that the form could only be wolf, and one that is not alone.

The large wolf got to his paws, stretching out his inky black legs before he took a few strides forward. It hadn't really occurred to him quite yet who it was. It only took a minute at an eased pace before his mind processed it all.

It was Mithos. Mithos and Elara. From this distance, he could see something in Mithos' mouth, and he knew Meryl was involved some way, some how. Had his younger brother decided to follow Meryl's footsteps and become a healer? Well...he hardly knew. He wasn't around. His pace quickened to a steady jog, heading directly towards the duo that was his blood.

He was a wolf meant for the moment of twilight, his very own form an inverse of sorts. Black legs, charcoal frame with scatters of white speckles, and the hot sun of russet setting upon his spine. He was quite the stunning sight, made more down to earth with his lack of hair placement.

He slowed his pace as he came upon the hill, catch the sight of one of the pups who lived here. He gave a swift nod to the young one, having seen the pup before but not particularly interacting with her. As much as he was a part of the pack, he had taken to a bit of seclusion, usually spending time to himself...and not wanting to be embarrassed around anyone either. He gave a gaze at the pup with his bright blue eyes, flashes of yellow catching the last light of the sun, his stare unintentionally intense. He wasn't so aware of himself sometimes, but his intentions were good. He slowed to a halt, his head turning towards the confirmed siblings of his coming to...visit? Quite honestly, he had no idea what they were doing here. They hardly even knew him. It was more likely he remember more of them than they of he. He honestly wasn't quite sure how to act. He was still at first, staring at them with curious yet stern eyes. They probably shouldn't be here, and he is certain their parents would not be pleased. His star-touched brows narrowed. He was hardly the one to talk, but obviously they will not be going back tonight by themselves.

"Mithos, Elara. Do Mother and Father know you two left? You will have to stay here tonight," he said simply, sauntering over to Mithos to sniff at what was in his mouth. He was a beast now, Starfall. A creature much more massive. He was Azrael's size exactly now, and stood to gain a few more pounds over the winter. He lifted his large black paws, hovering it over Mithos' head and gently swiped at his ear.

"You got...big," he stated, blinked a few times before looking back at Elara. Were they really old enough to come out here? Had it really been that long since he went back home? He almost sighed, holding it back before looking to his siblings to figure out exactly what is going on.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
