why study history when you can live it?

those who do not learn from history
are doomed to repeat it
Once upon a frozen shore, I had been alone. Then the Brute had found me once again. Now, most mares would be leery about leaving the safety of the herd after a raid. But I was not most mares. Not to sound too prideful, but I liked to wander. I liked my freedoms. But when I spotted and heard that stallion coming up the beach, every ounce of me stiffened.

Nope.

I turned about and was ready to quite literally run back to Sahin's side. No way I was going to be dragged away now. The wind rushed about and my ears found their way to my head as the stallion continued his approach. He just kept coming.

I was about to bolt down the slope when a strange thought struck me: No one would be stupid enough to attempt a raid in this sort of weather. Unless of course, he was also from Atlantis. But he was not golden Midas and as I had not seen any other stallions on the place I was quite certain it was only the Ridge and Paradise that had occupants.

I snorted, but kept my body tight and my ears half back as the stallion approached. I knew any scream I gave might be lost in the wind, so I darted back towards the palm forest and waited. Might as well be a good girl and help this guy get off the beach as the hurricane approached. See? I’m such a good girl. Besides, if I’m closer to the herd, then chances of getting run off the Paradise decrease significantly. Not like I’m going to let myself get raided again.

Hopefully.
