I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Some say to get out fast, looks like it’s gonna last
Get all your things and Fly

Amutaq rather liked his new position of sorts. It was an accident that he had ended up being a little bit of a guardian for a little group of loner females. Winter had ended, but surprisingly he seemed to have gotten all of his urges out that one day with the female from the very land he was heading towards. He was going to do this with all the packs, well all except Iromar, check with their Alphas to see if he and his little group of females would be welcome to freely travel in and out of their lands and stay around for a while. Of course they wouldn’t stay for long. The black male could only take seeing the same sites so much before his wanderlust took over having him lead the way. He never expected leading a little group would be easy, but he had to admit having Shimza and d’Mani around they were awfully, pushy. Shimza hated being dirty, while d’Mani just had to be sarcastic about everthing and just generally pushy. He didn’t mind he let them play their games with him and was happy to be friend and wipping boy if they needed it. He got a kick out of being whatever it was all of them needed. For Spirit it was just a kind friend it seemed, but the rest yeah he played a more, humbling roll.

Amutaq paused at the border waiting politely for the alpha to show up but a scent came to his nose, one that passed by recently. Zeteri, he couldn’t forget that smell and it made his heart flutter about happily at the memory of their rather joyous night. His half white banner waved and he couldn’t help himself but begin following the trail of her scent along the border. He had no idea that their night’s actions had conceived more than just a fun time, never had he had pups with any of the females he had fleeting fun with for a night, then again he couldn’t recall ever having met one of the females again either but that was besides the point. He followed her scent until the smell of blood permiated the air. His eyes grew big, no one yet had come to greet him but he wasn’t about to wait now.

Passing over the borders the brute ran towards her scent and the blood that was thick and soon he saw her laying on the ground blood pooling around her. He stopped wondering if she was dead, there was so much blood! Never in his life had he seen so much at one time. He moved towards her to see if she was even alive when he froze at the soft sounds coming from her. Squeaks, loud calls coming from her stomach. No. No no no no no! He prayed to fate in vain that the sounds were not what he was thinking they were, PRAYED it was just the sound of her breathing sounded oddly like the soft squeaks of child.

Amutaq moved forward tentatively, looking around her for a moment and there nestled in her fur he saw not one but two of the little things. Shiiiittttttt. Maybe they weren’t his? She seemed out of it, but alive, he could see the soft rise and fall of her side. ”Zeteri. Hey.” He spoke softly prodding her on the hip with a paw. She didn’t move. Well likely out cold from this and losing blood. He glanced around checking for any signs of the pack members. Why the hell wasn’t she in a den or something? Where the hell are some healers taking care of her? Out in the open that’s where she thought she should do this!? Feeling confident that she wasn’t about to swing around and eat him alive he prodded the black fur pup on top so he could see it properly. Well this child looked like its mom and as he rolled her he watched her maw open and close soundlessly. What on earth was wrong with her? So a daughter, joy, he hoped she wouldn’t be like his sister, if it was even his, but as he got a look at her face and saw the marks underneath her eyes that looked so much like his mother’s. Well… so much for them being not his… He didn’t know any other wolves who had eyeliner markings like that. Dammit. There was gold and white on her taili it could have came from anywhere, but the gold trailed up nearly half way. His… He had no doubt.

He turned to look at the other child now, shifting the second one over for a moment causing him to scream loudly in protest. Well this one wasn’t… broken it seemed not that he thought this was a good thing anymore. God it was so loud! He was greatful that his apparent daughter at least wasn’t a loud mouth like his son. A son. He was happy he had one and unlike the daughter was certain right away it was his. The brown on him reminded him of his father, and the white on his ears again his own mother wanted to invade his children’s genetics but his own was there, another half tail of gold. He guessed he could run away now, but he couldn’t they were his and never could he leave a damsel in distress.

Giving a deep defeated sigh he figured he could start by getting her into a den. Not far he saw the hole in the log that surely was the den she was trying to go for before the pups couldn’t wait any longer. He slipped himself under her very carefully navigating around his two children. He didn’t like the idea of leaving one in the grass but it wasn’t like he had enough room in his mouth for two and what was suprising.

”Why is she soooo heavy, dear lord woman.” He grumbled under his breath slipping under her and getting her onto his back as best he could. He figured his son would be the one to tough it out for a moment, plus he was loud enough that Amu figured he could find him again versus the quite little girl. Picking up the little girl in maw he started towards the den. This was ridiculously hard and stupid. Why was he even bothering?

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
