Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Part of Me

I follow my father to this strange land far away from our home of Diveen. Supposidly some crazy wolf by the name of Tobias came out here and tried to eat someone. Why anyone would want to eat another wolf was beyond me, but as I grew older and continued to be annoyed by various others in the world I guessed I could at least sympathize with wishing to rid it of some. My form has grown well and more lean over my near year of training to be an assassin with my father, my form is small and lithe, but lean thanks to training I had been doing. I was deadly in more regards than I think my father knew and much more so than any of these companions of ours. For one I had my Orion, my secret weapon that I don’t think anyone other than my secret keeper is aware of, secondly my mother taught me of poisons meaning I could kill someone without ever even seeing them. That’s what I was going to do right? Kill others? I was fine with ridding the world of the disgusting things that ran across it, including this Tobias.

My father speaks to Uncle Devil and I am content to follow in silence all the while moving behind him my ears swiveling to show I am paying attention but nothing more. Sometimes I smirked at my father’s words but most the time I just kept focused, my first mission as an assassin was at hand and I wasn’t about to ruin it by acting like some uncivilized child. I had to admit though, bushy and dirty as it was the forest was beautiful around here, I just didn’t like that I couldn’t see the sky beneath all these trees, even without their leaves.

My head snaps in my father’s direction as he addresses Malina, the Dark Angel of Diveen. I couldn’t say I liked her or disliked her much, to be honest I never laid an eye on her in my entire life. My gaze sits on her for a moment before again letting my mind wander to other things. Orion, I had to tell him I was coming here. I told him not to follow us, sure one of these wolves would detect him and potentially harm him, I knew my daddy would never let anyone hurt me, I just hoped he trusted me with that as well. Again I am jerked from my thoughts my father this time addressing me. I lost focus, my gaze looks behind me only to see a trail of steps behind me and I look between Devil and Malina.

Seriously how the hell is someone so big but so quiet? I adjust my footing accordingly swaying my form and letting my muscles contort so that as I watch my paw steps fade away as the adults that surround me. Pleased with this I continue following behind. I wish my father wouldn’t say I was blackened pelted.. I knew I was I was reminded constantly by the nearly pure white forms of my elder siblings and still I swear even as I near my third year of life I can feel their accusing eyes on me. Or maybe I am just paranoid? Either way I am far to used to it to even care about what a single one of Zeivah’s pups thought of me. All but Isola perhaps.

I slow as my father does, but then I hear some loud thunking and crashing about and see some giant male I never laid eyes on before running towards us. He was no assassin… Who invited him? I look away rolling my eyes, I thought this was supposed to be a /covert/ mission. For a reason. Wasn’t like Tobias was going to throw himself at this large group to begin with and now it was even bigger. Ugh. Whatever. I am sure he thought he was doing something right. But he was wrong.

Father instructs me to go with Malina, I am loathed to leave him, if not for the promise of staying safe to Orion, but I can hardly say now. I turn my form my blackend head lowered sniffing the ground in a vain attempt to really stir up the scent. I smell the thick scent of blood to be sure. Another wolfess arrives calling herself the War Shield, a silly name, but she is beta I guess. She speaks and it wasn’t like we already haven’t figured it out. I try to hold in an exasperated sigh eager to get to work but it seemed we must get all these stupid interruptions.

Suddenly it seems dear little Malina had a change of heart. The Zeivah loving woman tells me to come and she might tell me secrets, what secrets? I hardly care. I have secrets that would make the heads spin of wolves in Diveen, like I don’t know, Saintly not being dead? I think that one would send them all for a rush. I snicker inwardly my brother feeling bad for my current position of constantly having to deal with all these wolves placing blame for my existence. Really it would have been easier if I just would have died with my brother, but then I never would have found Orion, the only one to seemingly just mark me off as some child that should have never been conceived.

“I can take care of myself don’t you worry your pretty little head over me.” I scoff pressing onward and away from my father’s prying ears, ”And I don’t need you to teach me, I got my father for that. And I am sure you know what training under him was like.” I say rolling my eyes, if she can remember. So far these wolves seem to have dirt for brains. I can tell for some reason she hates me. Great another one who hates me cause I wasn’t popped out of perfect Zeivah’s womb.

”Splitting up and making us easier targets? That sounds like a really good idea.” I saw my voice dripping with sarcasm. ”If you want me to leave just say it, I get enough shit from my half siblings as is. Why is it that you feel the need to shove me off as nothing as well?” I hardly expect an answer but to be honest I am tired of taking their silent hatred. Let me at least get it out of the one wolf that isn’t my family.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
