( :D I was a bit of a fixer upper, I had a few flaws. <--- Yours! Got one of my own too ;) )
Oh Enderly liked this one.
She was so evasive - it fairly gave him a tingle up his spine. What a story she must hide beneath her disinterested countenance. What a tale indeed! If he only knew of princesses and runaways and secret coups filled with violence. The mere idea was like scandal to his brain. Enderly loved scandal. Some wolves enjoyed the thrill of fights, killing, or making friends. Some had ambitions to climb high up on the totem pole and sit dominant. Enderly enjoyed tearing one down to the bare bone *figuratively speaking* until he knew everything that created that soul and all the desires that drove it. Denali was as an apple fresh for the picking - so ripe with secrets that she desperately tried to mask. It was that desperation that made them so apparent.
She would be foolish not to be annoyed at him. It had been part of his intention because to learn what drove another to distraction, whether it be anger or happiness, gave one leverage. In order to complete his tasks required a certain amount of patience. In some cases being a gentleman could get him what he wanted. In other situations, unfortunately for Denali, being a mere pest would work. And he felt wild today, not refined, so he would give in to his base instincts to pester the female. Besides, she was a sweet picture to his eyes.
He wonders what she thinks as she shutters her expression at his obvious display. It serves to broaden his grin and enhance his joy. Oh she is so fun! Perhaps Denali has never met another like him. There is no tactful way she can get rid of him even if that is what she believes. He will take and take and take and still shadow her until he is thoroughly sated. For the first time in forever she might have to show some meanness to assert her point - but even still that probably wouldn't chase him away.
Well, boring or not she had company. Enderly frowns now at her as if to say 'Really, now?' Then he smiles and shakes his head side to side. "Mmm well guess that will have to be fixed, won't it? Because I am here now and this cave looks awfully cozy. Hope you don't mind sharing." Both ears stand up once more as she offers her meal. A lazy grin twists - it is an expression never far from his face. "Well if you aren't hungry I'm sure I could manage to eat it." It was a test. Of course she wanted to keep it, he thinks, otherwise why go through the trouble of hiding it and even catching it?
"Denali," he sighs sweetly. "What a beautiful name for such a beautiful wolf."
