Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Watching the older girl trip over herself almost made Shiloh feel as if she wasn't as clumsy as she always thought. Occasionally she had an accident caused by disregard for her foot and it bothered her only because her family were the angels, descendants of grace and poise and beauty above all else. They were fighters and politicians and she sometimes felt an outcast among them. But because Shiloh was so reclusive she hadn't figured out that there were a few among her family who were in more dire straights than her when it came to physical deformities. Blindness, a mute, and perhaps even more. Maybe it was some dark secret of her family.

Her ears flicked down to the pup once more, suddenly immersed in a mirth at his line of questioning. Who can chase a squirrel through the trees? But the idea that this boy might think her spectacular kept her from disagreeing with him. Instead she shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly with a grin. "Whatever I have to do to get them," she said. It wasn't exactly a lie but it was worded in such a way that he would take it as such.

He wasn't quite as irritated with the stranger in their midst - even though the pair were strangers too really - just curious. And oblivious. It was funny. Did she think like that a year ago? She couldn't really remember. Puppy-life was so fuzzy. Seeing Aviias wilt beneath her suspicious gaze should have made her feel guilty, and maybe it did a little, but she actually felt a sting of pride. Shiloh was beginning to come out of her shell and rather than be the one wilting beneath a gaze she was the one giving it. It was powerful. Uplifting. Probably wrong too.

Aviias sounded harmless enough and Shiloh wasn't ready to leave behind her new buddy just yet. What was the harm in making another friend? She wouldn't invite her back to Diveen, though, because she already worried about making a fool of herself and she was certain this female would bring unwanted attention her way. But that didn't mean she couldn't make friends outside of Diveen. In response to Aviias's question Shiloh fluffs her fur up and lifts her head in a Princess-like manner, something she has not done before. "I am from Diveen. I'm a Princess."

Shiloh nods to Aviias, agreeing to let her hang out with them. She lifts one paw to wipe her muzzle once more and ends up hitting Nogitsune in the head by accident as she drops it down. She just grins, feeling more relaxed in their presence than ever before. "What is it like to be a loner? Where is your mom?"
