Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Gods may bleed among mortals...

Dead memories of a Legend
Chapter I The life of Voltaire

My display of delight and attempt to humiliate the female didn’t seem to have the desired effect. The female didn’t care as much as I thought. Well, it was not my fault she stared at me like a starving fox begging for me to leave something for her. In any case, she seemed surprised somehow. My display carried on for a little more as my pupil-less eyes watched her while finishing my meal. It is nearly impossible to tell where I am looking at since my eyes are plain white. It is obvious when I turn my head to look directly at someone, but with my head lowered slightly while eating it was hard to tell If I was looking at my kill or the female. It is a great advantage in many ways.

There was something different to this girl. She turned away from me with even a ‘humph’ instead of just being angry or bothered. Another entertaining thing to do is make others angry, it is just so fun to do it and watch they break to their instincts and attack me mindlessly. Mortals… Such empty beings, easy to manipulate in many ways. The female padded away and in the direction of an oak and finally when my meal was finished I was given to watch the mortal from afar. She hunted a small squirrel and within a few minutes she took down her prey. It was something to respect since she hunted an animal much faster and harder to catch than the hare I took down. Either way it doesn’t compare to the size and how much I would be satisfied. She ate less for something harder to catch.

Was this a challenge? Some way to tell me that she was better than me indirectly? This girl amuses me. She gazed at me, my head tilted slightly. Now what this wolf wanted? I waited for a couple more minutes before looking down at my own kill, finished and nearly only bones, just a bit more of flesh hanging between them. There were parts of the creature that couldn’t be eaten. My head raised again and I got up, padding up to the wolf once more, approaching her slowly and coming to a halt feet away from her.

- Greetings,- With a deep voice and a friendly wag of my tail, my head dipped - quite a hunt, may I say, yet a poor choice of target. Still an acceptable display of skill…

I commented, teasing her a bit. She earned my respect. Not so much, but still this girl showed me that she had something.
