Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
its up to fate; it's woven in my soul

just give me a sign

I can feel you falling away; no longer the lost, no longer the same
and I can see you starting to break; I'll keep you alive if you show me the way

Shiloh is sure that her parents are proud of her but she wonders if they miss her. Probably not. They had plenty of other things to keep them distracted; how many of their other children had decided they'd have enough family of Diveen? She did not know that Solaris was here nor was she aware of any of her other family - hell she wouldn't know who Solaris was until she met him. Diveen would go to Achilles - his name she had heard of since he was the heir after all - and Calliel would be there to show her training. Guardian would watch over them all as a protector and who the heck knew what the other family would be up to in a couple of years. It really didn't matter truly for she was here now and finding she quite liked it. That might be too because the shy figure in front of her emboldened her spirit; his shyness seemed to make her braver and it served to make him cuter.

It almost made her want to try to play with him just to see how he'd react. She bet she'd get a kick out of how embarrassed he might get. It was not a cruel thought just amusing to her. Back in Diveen she had been nervous simply with being around her family for she always felt out of place, like an added addition that didn't quite fit the puzzle. Like a teen starting college she felt emboldened. Grown and much more adult here in this woodland territory and it had only been a day! Who knew what would happen in the coming years? She looked forward to it.

She ponders his question with a look of intense concentration. It wasn't always true, she guessed, that being a child of an alpha meant they were the heirs. She wasn't sure where she got that idea. It seemed the eldest at home got the gift whether he was suited for it or not. She bet her parents groomed Achilles for the roll for a long time. It seems Amoxtli knows nothing of ruling and honestly he isn't quite forceful enough for the role - but he is young. Time might change the boy before her. She hoped not, though. Even though her heart might be of a darker passion and her spirit a bolder one, she was drawn to the princely boy.

"I don't suppose they have to be heirs. Just depends on what your parents decide I guess. Why, would you like to be a King?" She is teasing now with her eyes crinkled and a grin on her maw; she wanted to see him get flustered. He was cute flustered she bet, just as he was cute now. What the heck was wrong with her? Oh whatever. What did it matter anyways? It was all in good fun!

Only one ear pricks forward, the other held to the side to catch the sounds of the forest, when he tries to speak but ends up mangling the word. Now her grin falls into a frown of uncertainty. What was he trying to say? Did he not know how to talk? Maybe the alpha here didn't teach the wolves how to interact. That would be a shame! Except Amoxtli understood everything she had said and it brought to mind Zeltzin's words to the blind boy upon her arrival - a fluid tongue that she knew nothing of.

She assumed he was trying to say something about Zeltzin being whatever he thought she was. So she takes away some of his frustration with a shrug. "She was polite. Seemed fine to me. Very Princessesly," she adds with another coy smirk. "Do you like Princesses?" Oh she couldn't help but pick fun! If only he could blush she'd try hard to get some rise out of him.

Solaris? Probably a family member, she thinks. "It isn't bad. I'm just related to almost everyone there. It is like... being suffocated, I guess you could say. It is a beautiful place. I'll miss it but here is a fresh chance to be me." It is as open as she feels to go into it for the moment and Amoxtli is already flustered about her asking to accompany him. She giggles, enamored with the stuttering boy. Wagging her tail she nods enthusiastically. "That would be good, Prince. Lead the way, your grace." Okay she was laying it on thick and trying to stifle the giggles that bubbled up in her chest and the twinkling in her eye. She didn't want him to get embarrassed and not want to come around her.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
