Lyden could not explain it but something about Caeisus soothed his nerves like no-one else could. Gandy kept his head on straight and thinking logically and clearly, as to where Caeisus brought out the lovey dovey romantic side of him that he only recently allowed to show through. Growing up he wasn’t sure how to express it for he never had been good either emotions let alone trying to express any he did feel. Over the time with being with Skylar she had helped a little but most of their relationship she stayed mad at him. Mad that he forced himself on her in a black out and then kept moving her around while being pregnant although that part wasn’t his fault. He owed so much to Jabberwocky who now was gone that he felt changed because of the ebony brute’s kindness and if jabber would were ever to return Lyden definitely would greet him with open arms

Looking up when gandy chased off a fox Lyden turned to look at Caeisus stand and stumble forward before putting on her brave face and tell them to lead the way. Gandy’s snarky response made Lyden flatten his ears and stare her down ”if you don’t want to be nice then I’ll take it from here gandy, I won’t have you being my lead girl and being so rude that’s entirely uncalled for” Lyden didn’t want to be so harsh with her because he understood she was mostly doing it to protect the forest, their son and herself but she did come across as being a little harsh and Lyden really didn’t have the patience for it.

Cae’s soft voice now came through explaining that she had to at least see him one last time and it made him feel even more protective of her. He stood right beside her helping her along the strides to the pool that thankfully gandy lead them too and he moved his lips to nudge her cheek ’this isn’t the last time my dear, you’ll be with me forever so long you’re willing. Your new life is here in the forest with me and my family now” he wasn’t sure if it would be a better life but Lyden would make sure he did everything he could to ensure it

Pausing next to the water Lyden waited for her to enter enough so she could clean her wounds and once doing this he excused himself for a moment and walked the couple of steps to gandy bumping her nose to say sorry for snapping earlier ”I know you’re just trying to protect the forest and I love you for that, I’m sorry for being so harsh, I just don’t want you feeling as though she’s here to cause strife because she’s injured. Your my queen now, compassion is something that comes with the job and if you have it with our son, you can have it with others as well, I have faith in you” smiling to try and coax a smile out of her and release any tension that may have built up Lyden turned and moved back to Cae

Looking over her wounds concern washed over him wondering if she got them because she was in a rush to get away from Soljor because of fear or desperation. Either way he would ask when she wasn’wasn't so shooken up. Looking over the pearlino’s shoulder Lyden signaled for gandy to continue. ”come my dear we’ll take you into safety one step at a time”
