At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Something…she needed something. Something to distract her from the thoughts that threatened to plague her back into the deadly depression. A depression that she thought would kill her, had hoped would kill her. Had hoped would end the torment and pain that filled her insides like a white hot fire, a fire that flowed through her veins and burnt her heart to ash and dust. Maybe that would be better. Anything would be better than the hurt she felt, the hurt that tortured and tormented her. How could he do this to her…AGAIN? He had left her once, and come back, apologizing and begging for forgiveness. She had forgiven him, what else could she do? She loved him with all her heart and being, and she didn’t know how to be whole again without him. And she was back to her normal self again; the self she was proud, the self that had originally come to Aurora Borealis, with her thick shining black pelt, bright yellow orbs full of life, muscles strong and lean, bodice filled out, a pretty and powerful form. But this form had disappeared again when had left her…again. She never thought she would get back to that form, but already she was almost there. For weeks her pelt had thinned and become patchy, her muscles went to nothing, she became a pile of bones with fur, the life had left her eyes. But, once again, she was recovering. Her pelt was back to its full form, shining in the sun and thick once more. Her muscles rippled under fur, not as strong as they were before, but she was working them back to her full strength. She was no longer skin and bones, but a healthy form now. All that was left was to bring the life back to her eyes, something she did not know if it would ever go back to how it was before.

These were the thoughts that swam through the ess’ mind as she trotted through Blossom. It felt good to use her powerful muscles again, to have her powerful muscles back. She was debating if she wanted to hunt or not. She had not eaten too long ago but her form was still not as it once was. She had her friend and alpha, Kalgalath to thank for where she was right now. If he had not found her she knew that she would have let herself die in that field, let herself wear down to nothing. She shook her head, ears flopping for a moment to brush the thoughts away. The femme was doing herself no good if she lingered on such things. She needed to move on and she knew it. Chenzii felt the grass and rocks slide under her pads as she trotted through the trees, just feeling alive for the first time in weeks. Finally she decided to head back to Aurora, talk to Kal about maybe going to visit the pack SawTooth for him as he had asked, now that she was in a better state.

The heat of the day was strong and once she left the trees and was in a more open area her black pelt began to heat up and warm her. After only a few moments she was panting and sweating. Having a thick black pelt did not have its advantages in the summer time. Due to the heat she decided to use the entrance to her home near the lake and maybe go for a quick cooling swim. With a destination in mind now she broke into a run, wanting to get to the cool water as soon as she could. The wind picked up and ruffled her fur. She let her tongue loll lazily out of her maw, laughing for a brief moment at how childish she felt just running. She slowed to a trot when she saw that the lake was finally in site, and a break from the heat. When she reached the water she immediately stepped in, sighing in relief as the water cooled her hot pads that had touched the burning hot stones. After a moment she plunged her whole body under the water, feeling the satisfactory coolness of it rush over her. Chenzii swam lazily, in the direction that would take her to the smaller river that went to Aurora’s territory, when a sound reached her audettes. She perked her ears at the noise, a howling call of someone who was lonely and melancholy, maybe as lonely and melancholy as herself. She paused her movements for a moment, looking behind her to try and see who had made the call, when another howl reached her ears. This one was different. This one was of defiance and power, yet it had come from the same vocals. She wondered who must be out there, one who was both lonely yet also powerful. The ebony ess was not sure what made her do it but suddenly she was swimming towards the bank. She wanted to meet this wolf.

Once she had reached the side again and had shaken water droplets from her thick fur she had turned and sniffed the air deeply, seeing if she recognized any scents. Many lupines came here and the scents all mingled together, but none that she recognized. She would have to rely on her eyes for this. She trotted along the bank, keeping her paws in the water to avoid the heat of the stones that lined parts of the lake, until she saw another black lupine, as dark as herself. For a moment she wondered if it was her friend Magic, but her scent was not nearby at all. She had not heard another howl since his first two, and paused for a moment, watching him, before trotting over to him, a bit wary, but went over still the same. What was she going to say to him? Hello I heard your call and you sounded sad like me so I came over? That just sounded stupid. After she reached him though she was glad that words did not fail her, ”Hello there. My name is Chenzii, do you mind if I sit by you?” She spoke politely, keeping her tail in a neutral and non-threatening position, not where it would be if this male would have come to her pack, and stood for a moment facing him, looking at him as water dripped from her drying pelt. Her yellow orbs swept over his large black form, recognizing the patterns of muscling under his pelt. She stayed silent, waiting to hear if she would be welcomed to sit, or if he wanted her to leave him.
