The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Zeltzin was glad to see that at least this stranger was calm. But calmness could be deceiving still though he seemed nice enough, she didn’t have any bad feelings and hey, she could kick his butt right? She had been kicking her brother’s butt for years! Maybe not Dexter, but definitely Amoxtli’s. Still he answered her questions, honestly, it seemed. Of course she couldn’t recall loners having pups in the lands but at the same time she knew of Iblis and his alliance with his pack. Her face lit up with recognition of the name and she was certain from there she could trust him, her features relaxed slightly and she even took a few steps closer to get a better look at the same aged boy. ”You were born in Taviora? That’s cool! It must be awesome to be able to go wherever you want and call whatever spot you want home! It’s really nice to meet you Lucero.” She said her tail waving about lightly behind her bright gold and mahogany eyes looking over his own russet, black and cream form.

He was polite too, also a bonus. While Zeltzin was never called a princess by anyone but her mother she certainly thought herself one and acted like it. Father didn’t mind of course, he was his only daughter, likely to be the only one he would ever sire, so she was already special to begin with. She couldn’t tell he had a bad eye, not in the dark at least, but perhaps he wouldn’t mind wandering around with her? If his family was trusted to come into Taviora obviously he should be trusted too. He looked pretty big and tough, bigger than her at least, and her father said loners generally were made out of tougher stuff than others.

”My name is Zeltzin, or Zelly if you want. My father is Coszcotl and my mother is Moth.” She figured she wouldn’t have to say her father’s rank. He was pretty well known even outside the pack and if Lucero was born there then certainly he probably knew something of, at least, the higher ranks of Taviora. She didn’t worry with him around, perhaps she trusted too easily, but he just seemed a trustable boy. She wanted to trust him and show him the same pleasantries he offered her. It was only polite.

The my lady made her giggle a little bit at that shaking her head lightly. Okay so she always wanted to be treated like a princess but to actually be called ‘my lady’ by someone it as weird, but nice. She gave another little giggle before saying, ”I just wanted to explore. It’s boring staying in one place all the time.” She said giving her tail a wave smiling at him slightly. It was good she ran into someone that she could trust, he wasn’t familiar, but again her father trusted Lucero’s family enough to allow his parents to bear pups in their lands. Then again her father was sorta a goody-over trusting-two-shoes that may get walked on. She pondered this for a moment but shrugged, so far this was going well and she didn’t want to worry about being eaten or attacked or whatever loners worried about. It must be scary being alone and he was as young as her!

”Have you… ever been bothered before, Lucero? Like by bad wolves?” She asks tilting her head slightly. She did wonder if all the tales of demons and stuff really were grounded. She knew of the demon’s home Iromar, but she didn’t know anything else about them really. Or if there were bigger, worse things to worry about in the world. Lucero would probably know though.
