PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

The unholy ghost

She had been here, she had been gone, and she had been damn near everything in between. The creature couldn’t really stand the thought of being gone anymore, and now… and now she couldn’t stand the thought of herself. Hurting from the inside out had become her life, and she was sick and goddamn tired of it. Maybe Anath was tired of it all, and that was her life. Sick. Tired. Arthritis had set deep into her kenes and her hips, but that wasn’t what she was going to dwell on. The better things to dwell on? Well… it was best not to dwell at all. Bull.

She pulled herself from the fall sea, a chill smattering her amber champagne coat. That was typical. It was ever so typical of her to hold that cold… it was all in her head. It was always in her body. A chill that had become her… right. All chill, all the time. Ice queen—that was a lie. There was so much of it that was a lie. She would just… lie to herself. Lie to herself to get through. Lie to herself so she could wash up on the shore of the Crossing in one piece. That was all that mattered… one piece. Anath could pretend.

The creature managed her way to the foot of the Peak itself. She was tired, but there wouldn’t be anything keeping her from the grey skies. There was the scent of something in the air, something that she was goddamn familiar with… and she swore she was crazy. She swore she was god be damned crazy in the fact that… that she could… that she could smell it. Her brain was lying. Her nose was lying. Every last bit of the dun mare shook. It wasn’t real. It couldn’t be god be damned real. Stillness crashed over her mind and over her body, trying to gather herself once and for all. It couldn’t be… and yet… and yet…

She yelled. Top of her voice screamed, green eyes burning with some sort of obscene flame. ”Heart?” A question hanging in the air has her cracked hooves pound across the shale beneath them. Blood rushing in her ears… god damn… it had to be real. Her mind couldn’t be playing tricks like this. It hadn’t in so long, it couldn’t… it just couldn’t. What on earth.
