Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.

A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

"Speak for yourself." The pup said a little bit incredulously. He did consider himself a screw up, an accident as it was. His parents certainly hadn't brought him up this way. They were perfectly normal and he, well, wasn't. Truth be told, he'd take a lot worse names than screw up to normal. That he most definately was not. Skipper... He wasn't though. He was the one who was bound to be successful if he put his mind to it. That was why he was the leader and Row was not. Skip hadn't taken to kindly to this particular comment though, a hard look coming over him. His voice was soft when he spoke again. The boys couldn't stay mad at each other for long. Just... Everyone makes mistakes, right? Now we know what not to do when starting a "pack." I shouldn't leave everyone alone and you shouldn't be a leader.

This was the great thing about their friendship. Skip could cheer Row up with a joke, even on the most sensitive of topics. His humour was good humour. Sometimes harsh, but always good fun. Just like him. The pirate himself, however, prefered sarcasm. It was both funny and a good defense mechanism. The rest of his humour was dirty, rude, and quite crass. Learned from the older trouble makers he'd spent time with, his repertoire was full of disgusting jokes and foul language. He could still vividly remember the looks of horror on his parents face when he'd repeated one in public. He was trying to keep them in until adolescence hit, but it was difficult. Sometimes the curses slipped out at the most I opportune moments. Oh, the trouble he got himself into. It wasn't pretty, but it was a hell of a lot of fun.

Skipper's movement pulled him away from his reverie. He padded next to the boy and lay down next to him, bumping their shoulders together in the process. A tingle went through Row's small body, sparking something in the boy. No. Why was he enjoying this? The smaller pirate shifted his shoulders away from Skip. He wouldn't want his best friend getting the wrong idea. He managed to keep the blush down this time. Good thing too; Skipper was looking right at him. "Ya I guess." he mumbled, embarrassed. Cheer up, mate. Everything's going to be okay.

Row hadn't been expected Skip's next move. He felt a wet nose push into his cheek and nuzzle it. There was no hiding this blush. It was instant and obvious. Skip could probably feel the heat. Amber eyes closed for a the moment in enjoyment. Then his brain clicked and Seerower was pushing the captain away and leaping up. He looked around the field, making sure no one had seen. His parents hadnt told him about bisexuality, but they had told him about homosexuality. And this was what he imagined it to be. Maybe it would've been alright when they were much younger; Best friends were often incredibly close. But here... Now... It wasn't. For boys approaching adolescence it wasn't good and right. It was something he'd seen once before. He gave Skipper a look of shock mixed with anger and confusion. "Wha... Wha... What did you think you were doing?" he finally managed to get out. "Are you c...c...crazy?" he was stammering now. He didn't know how he felt. This was, to the pirate, a kiss. He hadn't hated it. Not one bit. Actually, the boy had rather enjoyed it. But it wasn't... Proper? It wasn't normal. Just like him. If he had understood his emotions, maybe Row would've told Skipper he loved him. But he didn't. Was this Skip's way of telling him something? It was all so befuddling.

Sure that no one had seen them, Seerower lay down again, a little farther from Skipper. "What was that then?" he asked sharply. "I mean, why'd you kiss me, Skippy?"
