Delya can’t help the way the water feels in her soul. It runs through her, coursing bright and making her feel right at home. Her river, how she’d missed it! How dearly she had missed it! Tail wagging as she splashed about, a bark of absolute joy… private moments. Moments when she looked silly and let everything simply happen. The spring sun that felt ever so much like summer made the razor thin female think that there was something out here worth discovering, worth playing with, worth… worth it all. Though she wasn’t like her brother (daddy had said depressed and fucked up but it all sounded so taboo) there was the possibility under the surface.
And yet it wasn’t a possibility at all because she had this play in her. Joy in her heart. And still, upon hearing someone else’s voice, she stopped dead in her tracks. Breath drained from her lungs, and if she could have blushed… she would have. “Um… not help, but company would be nice!” That was all. That was simple, that was plain, and that was straightforward. The sunshine glinting off the water dazzled her slightly, and Delya blinked a few times in an effort to focus on the girl speaking. Red girl, kind eyes… kindness. That was what meant the most. delya
