when everything's made to be broken...
It never occurred to me that this wolfess seemed of higher placement upon a pack. The scent of others, and of this place did linger on her pelt, but her demeanor felt short of dominance and a lead for this moment. And when she laughed, I couldn't help that I had smiled broadly and began to giggle as well.
As she chased a few strides, I gracefully bounded away before turning and chasing her in return, now myself laughing aloud. Once she paused and taunted playfully, I leaped and landed just before her, my front paws shoving down into the top layer of what was still powdered snow. When her frame suddenly darted my way, I dodge her just as she sharply fled to the side and landed in the snow with a joyous laugh. I quickly followed suit and landed beside her, rolling carelessly in the snow, my own laugh echoing in the branches of the trees above.
When her laugh shallowed, I pushed myself onto my belly and rest a while, looking down at her beside me. There was something written on her face that I could not read, and I would leave it up to her to tell or not. Instead, she spoke a thanks leaving me confused. I give her a slight bow of my head.
"I don't understand, but still you're quite welcome." A smile lifted brightly on my creamy and autumn colored maw, and a thought struck inside as now we need know names. I had made her happy as well, therefore I felt it necessary the two of us know just who had pleased us at this point in our lives.
I give it a long and hard thought before finally speaking. "Attila," I say softly, looking down at my paws which were buried in snow. I return my burning ember gaze to her, "My name is Attila."
I just want you to know who I am.
