Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Four years old and what could she say about her life? She had been attacked as a pup, lost her way, hated her parents, wandered for a bit, then found herself living amongst the mountain wolves. She hadn’t very social, only really talking to Cae or Taliesin, and just stayed close to her den. But that had to stop. She couldn’t be depressed her whole life and now she wanted to make a name for herself. Lady Daenerys had given her a task but Gaia wanted to do more. She wanted to prove that she was capable and how else but to leave her comfort zone and find new members to brine back to Spirane. That morning, the young girl had moved down from her mountain haven into the free lands and all day she walked and walked and walk. As the sun started to set, the russet colored wolf realized she had made a terrible mistake.

Her bowed back legs were sore and tired. Since she had not really exercised them too much they had grown weak and each set she took was agony. The stars started to spread out above her as she started to make her way back home and she knew that at this rate it would be several hours until her paws rested on Spirane soil again. Worry began to fill her heart. It was clear she was not strong enough to continue as her legs began to limp awkwardly and should any predator find her… Gaia shuddered and tried to pick up the pace.

The sound of howling drew her attention from the pain and a glimmer of hope lit up her heart. Trying her best to ignore the ache in her legs, Gaia moved towards the sound of the howl. Another one joined it suddenly and that hope started to vanish. But on she went, hoping against hope she would not be attacked for hear weakness. Maybe she would find new friends… or a new wolf to bring back to the mountain! She saw the pair up ahead, their colors contrasting like night and day, and slowly she approached. Before she could announce herself or say hardly a word, her back legs finally gave out and she fell to the ground in a pathetic heap. Gaia just laid there, trying not to cry out of embarrassment and pain, and waited for the wolves to attack.
