Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

And every demon wants his pound of flesh

A deep growl had ripped from her throat when she realized her brother had snuck off. She had left him to play amongst the rocks, jumping form one jagged boulder to the next, while she hunted the small mice that called the crags their home. She had returned with two hanging by their tails from her white muzzle when she noticed him missing. She dropped their small bodies with a soft thud into the dirt as her head spun on a swivel. She jumped to one of the larger rocks to get a better view of the area until she caught the trace of his scent on the wind. She followed it only for a moment as there was no indication of foul play or anything other than the fact that Hollowpoint had left of his own volition before she stopped. She huffed rather loudly, annoyed not for the first time, that he had gone his own way without her. He would come back in time no doubt, but she was done simply waiting for him as she had before.

With not a second thought to the mice, they had been a present for her brother anyway; she set off north towards the woodlands she had seen in the distance upon their arrival. It wasn’t a far trip and she took a moment longer in crossing the stream that fed in to the lake before continuing on, the cool water felt good on such a sweltering day. Finally she reached the edge of the trees, they were rather dense much to her surprised but she relished both the coverage and atmosphere they brought. She had always been fond of trees, more places to hide.

She stalked in to the area with her thick body slung low to the ground, there would surely be all kinds of smaller rodents lurking on the forest floor and she had quite an appetite for a rabbit or a squirrel at the moment. It didn’t take long for the tell-tale scent of prey to catch her nose and almost physically pull her in that direction. She slowed as she approached, peering over the thick foliage on the forest floor before spotting the rodent on the other side of the clearing. A raccoon, must to her surprise, they often weren’t out during the day preferring the cover of night as she did, but she wouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Silently she moved to the side, a few mere feet from her target. Her muscles coiled as her legs drew close together, shifting in place to get her perfect balance before she sprung. She was not fast and agile like her brother with his lithe form, she was heavy and thick made to take hits as well as give them but she could still sprint as fast as any of her kind. Head low she snaked forward hitting her target like a freight train. With lethal skill she drew the raccoon in her gaping jaws right behind its neck, one satisfying crunch severing its spinal cord and various other organs. The warm blood that trickled in to her maw and stained the corners of her snowy muzzle marked her success.

She trotted a short way off before she stopped and set down her prize, tearing out its silver fur in tufts to get to the meat and sinew below while low growls echoing in her throat. It was peaceful to be on her own for once, the constant yapping of her brother not distracting her and set every one of her nerves on edge. She missed him of course, it was like a piece of her had gone missing, but they would connect again soon. They always had and always will.
