Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I follow Octavia's gaze as she looks around. I see nothing but beauty and familiarity when I look at Glorall. The smell of the ocean is so fresh and near. The breeze is sandy with a slight kick to it, like the grits are cleansing my skin just from standing here. I like it. It's home. I wonder what she's been up while I was gone. Did she stay here and learn how to run the pack with her father? Did she explore any herself? Did she make new friends, new connections? I wonder if she's found an imprint or mate yet. I feel a wave of discomfort when I think about it so I brush the idea aside. When I breathe in her perfume, it doesn't seem to be tainted by anything but Glorall. That's a plus right?

I can't help but smile at her. She's grown up to be very pretty. My ears prick in surprise when she says that she just got back. I tilt my head curiously. Back? So she left too. I pause a moment before offering another smile. She came back though. That says something.

"I hope you had fun, wherever you went."

I venture. I don't want to be nosy and ask so if she wants to share, she can. Then she asks where I've been and I smile a little wider, holding my head a little higher. I'm proud of myself for being independent after all.

"Everywhere. I found a band of gypsies and stayed with them for a while then I traveled through the free lands, meeting many wolves along the way. I learned a lot about socializing and how pack politics work. I made a lot of friends. What about you? Meet anyone special?"

The question comes out before I know it. My brows lift a little in surprise at my own daring but I regain my composure with a small crooked smirk, trying to be charming.
