Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Maybe Fjallraven was a little blind to the goings on in the world. That she thought she might be safe from wolves like Magnus up on such a small boulder. After all she was a tiny creature - if SHE could climb the rock then so could Magnus and certainly with more ease than she could. Yet she seems to think she is safe higher than him. That if only she can cower somewhere a wolf might not spot her, might let her go, that if she can weasel her skinny body beneath a deadened bush another might leave her be. She a pitiful, she thought, and others might see that as something less than their time. That was the hope anyways. Fjallraven was in many aspects naive and in others she was perceptive. Then again it didn't take a rocket scientist to tell that Magnus was less than pleased with her, as if she had done something to make him mad. She was only hunting! He didn't have to show up and scare the mongoose off or be mean, he could take his comments and go elsewhere.

He sighed in an annoyed manner and her tail slapped against the rock as she huffs, puffing her bony chest out in an attempt to make herself look larger. Until he talks of coming up there to snap her head off, in which case she flinches from his words and her eyes widen as she glances over him. Like his words were really comforting and all! Now she glares at him suspiciously, trying to decipher if he is merely joking or trying to assure her because if so he was going a terrible job of it.

Magnus begins to pace and each time his form passes by her Fjallraven tenses, her heart fluttering nonstop until she finally sighs in aggravation. Can a wolf die from constant fright? She felt like she might, and she was tired of waiting on him to go away (even if it had only been a minute or so). She was burning daylight and she had to finish her hunting today. Otherwise it would be dark before she knew it and she'd never find her markings to get home again.

Then he suddenly turns to her and does something strange. He acts nice. Her ears perk up and her eyes light at the idea of him helping her. Because really if that mongoose came back and she wasn't near a boulder she would likely add another scratch to the one healing on her nose. Fjallraven suddenly thrusts herself up until she is standing with her paws precipitously close to the curved edge of the boulder and tail wagging a mile a minute. She beams down at him, overlooking the false way he speaks. She isn't that far from home, she thinks, so if he tries any funny business surely she can outrun him.

"Okay!" She sounds eager, suddenly jumping down from the rock but flinching when her injured paw hits the ground and lifting it up so no weight is on it. Then she glances in the direction of the lost mongoose, turning her head back to Magnus curiously. "That was a rat? I haven't seen one so big before." How strange, she thinks, it didn't look like a rat. But what did she know right? She couldn't even catch a damn thing. She sniffs the air and then begins walking in the opposite direction from which the mongoose went, stopping for a moment to scratch a gouge into the earth as another marker to herself which way to go before continuing forward, glancing nervously once more at Magnus and noticing just how BIG he was compared to her. "You aren't going to hunt ME right?" She blurts, unable to help herself, but wondering if she should have stayed on the boulder out of reach - in her head.
