What was he going to do with himself. He didn’t know what to think one minute he was sure that he was ready to think about being a father, but then he would feel as if he was no where near ready. Maybe it was his past, his father, that was causing his reluctance. He contemplated that, staring out from the middle of the lake. The once clear water was now turbid, clouds coming up from the bottom, the sediment rising up to the top. It was intriguing to watch. The sediment rose in clouds, overcoming the crystal clear water and taking over. Split eyes looked out over the lake. It was barely dawn, the sky barely starting to brighten in the morning light. It was early yet, and no others were about, at least that he had seen. Winter was literally right around the corner, and the drop in the temperature caused the dew on the grass to freeze, frosting the grass with a crunchy layer of ice. It was cool against his body, and he was just waiting for the sun to come out to warm his damp coat. It didn’t totally bother him, but at the same time he didn’t enjoy being wet, or laying on the cold grass for that matter. He had yet to find anyone that he was interested in for breeding with, and that made him puzzled, was it supposed to be this hard to find someone? Even just one girl that would be interested, maybe even in the slightest. Was that too much to ask for? |
