Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Renegade
seven - loner - bound & loved by none

Renegade didn't have much of a purpose these days. He supposed Istas was enough purpose for him, but he missed the old days of thievery and chaos. That was what he was, though. A beautiful thing born of disaster, but that was not something he could wrap his head around. He was familiar with the phrase 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger,' but it always just seemed like bullshit to him. He had been strong with his old partner by his side, strong when he monopolized the desert. But he didn't feel so strong anymore, and it was really just a front he was putting on. Confident, cocky... he was all these things on the surface, but underneath? He didn't know.

But he didn't have time for self-improvement. Renegade didn't want to lose Istas too in a moment of weakness or something equally ridiculous, and so he could continue to construct a persona out of the things that he knew his lover would like. It was just easier that way. But he was healing, and he was starting to find more things to hold onto to keep himself grounded.

Winter was on it's way and he could throw himself into survival, though Istas had a home within Iromar Renegade was a bit reluctant to join himself. He wasn't sure why, maybe it was the fact that it would bring him even closer to the ghostly wolf, and sometimes that closeness could ruin these things. Sometimes you just couldn't handle someone else up close. Sometimes their imperfections were too much, and romance didn't seem so appealing anymore. Renegade, though he wouldn't admit it, was scared of this wonderful thing falling apart.

He bristled against the wind, fluffing up his wiry fur. Renegade was no fan of the cold weather, and unfortunately for him winter's approach couldn't be stopped. He gave a small snort at the thought. If anyone could stop mother nature it was him.

Renegade didn't have to wait by himself for long, his crimson eyes soon finding the lanky form of Istas approaching. He stood, a grin cracking across his face almost subconsciously. Istas didn't hesitate to approach, loping right up to him and running his body against Renegade's. The brute felt a familiar jolt at the contact, leaning his body against the other briefly before he pulled away. He snorted at the greeting, his tail giving an amused flick. "Scruffy, eh? I'm hurt." Renegade teased. "Nice to see ya too, Istas."

Istas's next words caused his heart to jump a bit. There was never enough time, and so Renegade had to force himself to be content with whatever time they had, even though he was always left wanting more and more. "'Course I'll come. You might need my help, after all, let's not forget who's the superior thief here." Renegade said with a wink, giving Istas an affectionate nudge on the shoulder.

oh, bless me Lord for I have sinned
it's been a lifetime since I last confessed
i threw my crutches in "The river of a shadow of doubt"
and I'll be dressed up in my Sunday best
