During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

He had jumped at her words. She had been able to feel it straight to the bones that lay under her skinny figure. However she refused to smile. It was not in her nature to do such a thing. Her words had been truth to him, and she would not poke fun at any reaction whatsoever. But here, right now, she faced a different sort of problem. One that involved a lot of heat rushing to her cheeks and her eyes scanning around, attempting to focus on anything besides him. What the HELL, girl? What the hell had that been?! Where had it even COME from?! Kobato’s jowls grinded together, sawing the edges off each other. A groan of embarrassment echoed loudly inside of her soul. For a moment, she thought it had reached the atmosphere of reality, and she looked up, hoping to whatever goddess ruled the moon that it hadn’t. What met her was not what she was expecting.

Fear boiled right under her pelt as soon as her eyes met the disrupted gaze of Vladya’s. Obviously her previous worry was long forgotten, sent to the gates of “who cares” and was most likely never to be heard from again. This look. This empty look was quite similar to the one from Spring Grounds. Kobato’s heart pattered uncontrollably against her ribs, and her nares flared. Her auds pricked all the way forward, and her stilts stiffened, nervousness running adrenaline through like a drug. Fire encased her veins. She stared in sincere horror as he stalked forward. She closed her eyes as quickly as she could, wondering what she could have said wrong. What she did to incur this kind of reaction from him. Had it been the bite? Dismay crept into her features, and her dreamers snapped open again. He was much closer to her this time. But the scream that had been rising to her lips as he approached barely caught oxygen. The dragon slid under her chest, turning her planned scream into a huff of breath being plowed from her larynx. Confusion mottled her thinking for a while, catching her off guard from where she could have said something and what the right word to say. Her only thought that she could get through right now was: weight. I wouldn’t bother wiggling around: your paws can’t even touch the terra. His words freaked her out. For some reason she hadn’t been expecting him to speak.

W…WHAT?! She stammered loudly, attempting in vain to turn her head so that she could see his expression. Clearly this was her Vladya. The same one that had just been sheltering her from the rain. It wasn’t the untamed massacring beast inside of him that had shifted her weight—her weight! Kobato almost screamed her protest, but even though she whined and painted a pout on her feminine face, she paid his words heed and didn’t move. Aren’t I heavy though? Vladya this is weird—I can walk on my own! A pause—then a whispered hiss. Vladya. But he didn’t say anything else. Not a single word. He didn’t soothe her fear at being too heavy even. Awkward. Kobato, having never experienced many of the things that her chosen had, felt more than a little out of place here. She struggled to stay still. Discomfort poured through each one of her joints, though this felt familiar in a way. Kobato stared upwards, watching with slanted eyes as the raindrops became smaller and less frequent. The tree branches were gathered together as hands do, only allowing a small amount of space in between their wooden bones. Suddenly, after minutes of this, Vladya’s shoulders slanted and Kobato instinctively crouched lower onto him, doing her best to hold on, her hind legs squeezing and her eyes closing tightly. She didn’t have to do this, which she became aware of moments later when the war-boy’s descent ended up being into a small cave. Kobato lifted her head, totally not thinking of her surroundings, and ended up hitting her head on the ceiling.

A guttural growl of pain echoed through her straight afterwards, and soon she was lowered to the ground, where she awkwardly clambered in order to keep from smashing her face into the dirt. Obviously this was a totally new thing for her—and by the look she shot Vladya then and there, not her favorite. I’ve got four perfectly good legs, you know… She spoke without venom, laying herself down to wait for her eyes to adjust to the dark while listening to his paws scuff the surface of the terra. Before they had the chance to, however, his flesh was pressed up against her own. Toffee stargazers looked up, meeting his pyrite ones. She stayed perfectly still as he began to reach out towards her. One sweep of his tongue had her heart pounding. But he paused, and the next thing she knew, he was baring his teeth at her. She shied away from him a bit in response at first since it was unexpected, then came right back, barely fazed. Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m just trying to keep you warm so you don’t get sick or something. It’s a tundra thing. Shut up. She smiled softly and leaned forward, auds flattening so that he knew she wanted to be touched again. Despite what he said, she had a feeling that wasn’t it. Every time he made to move towards a different part, she picked up quickly and moved so that he had better access to it. Silence had never been so loud in her domes.

She stayed quiet. She didn’t know what to say. Occasionally she scooted closer to him, hyper aware that this would be their first time sleeping in the same place with one another since Spring Grounds—and that was a while ago. There was one thing, though, that she wanted to ask—but she didn’t know if it was appropriate to do so. She had never wondered about it before. Heck, she didn’t even know if it affected his vision at all. But she stayed silent. For some reason, she didn’t want to say anything. When his breath touched her neck, she inhaled sharply and shivered. Vladya…? What? Did she have the wrong idea, after all? Warmth rose to her cheeks and she swallowed loudly.
