aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

A dislocated limb. That’s what was ailing the creature of myth. When she spoke her name to the male, he stopped and kept his distance from her, which had her holding her breath even further. What was he doing? Her domes pricked in surprise at the sudden words that escaped his parted lips. Soft billows of smoke flowed out of that maw, encasing the words like cobwebs do an abandoned room. Amalthea. You’re safe now, don’t worry. No one will hurt you now. I’ll protect you. She stared at him in disbelief. Was she picking everything up right? Sure, she was having trouble deciphering the words that she hadn’t heard in Tor knows how long, but she figured that she knew the meaning of it. The faerie’s portals swayed across the terra, disbelieving and a bit fearful. Suddenly he was moving towards her. Amalthea stiffened, her claws digging into the moist ground. Audettes flattened against her crown, terrified at his closeness. It was as if he was making it seem that they had a sort of bond between them. Did wolves usually get this close to one another on a regular basis? Amalthea didn’t like it. With the frailty of her situation and his strength rippling across his hide, she could barely keep herself from trying to bolt away. The only thing that stayed her movements was the fact that her limb was petrifyingly painful. Now I need you to tell me where it hurts so I can help you. Automatically the girl shivered. If he knew her weak spot, he could attack her and make it into her downfall. The stray ess ran through her thoughts at a break neck speed. In a moment of crazed bravery, she defied her own teachings and looked pointedly at her limb. She hesitated then, careful and awkward as she gazed back up at the titan.
Okay Almalthea, we need to get you to someone that can help you better than I can. Do you think you can stand? I’ll help you walk, don’t worry. Thea took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. Her muscles tightened and she concentrated on the ground in front of her paws, willing herself to lift up a bit. She managed to stand on her own, though her leg was totally useless beside her. Just then… he was at her side. His feathered pelt rustled against her own plumes and she tried her best to not tremble and quake. I know of a good healer who is not too far from here. Her name is Hellene and she is in Aurora Borealis. They are a nice pack so no need to worry. I’ll call specifically for her when we get there and she will help you. I’ll stay with you the whole time, don’t worry, I’ll make sure nothing else happens to you. Once again, Amalthea was dazed with all the information she was getting. The wheels in her head cranked like crazy, trying to put two and two together. Reality turned into a walking nightmare as she forgot all about her situation, trapped within her head. She walked alongside the brujo as if he had been a friend for years. Not that she didn’t eye him the whole time. She was careful. Too careful. Every single soundless step was followed with hoarse breathing. It hurt. It hurt so bad. But no matter how many times she tried to put weight on it, it didn’t feel any better. Actually it got worse every single time she tried to move. After a long while, he helped her back to the ground and she lowered herself as close to the grass as she could—a newborn fawn among hungry predators. I’m going to call for Hellene now. She’ll help you with your injuries and make some of your pain go away. I’ll be by your side the whole time, I promise. The girl looked up at that strange hellion with nervous watchers.

She winced as he raised his song to the atmosphere, announcing that they were there. She froze, terrified. What if his call brought about things that were born from nightmares. When he was done, he sat close enough to her that she actually scooted more near him. And when another varg came from the shadows—and this one looked even more terrifying than the soldier she relied on right now to keep his word. …what happened? Her expression seemed to soften a bit, but… Amalthea looked hastily up at the fuhrer beside her. Was this the person he was looking for? She knew it most likely was, and because of this, she turned back and her lilac eyes staggered around the settings she was in while she allowed her voice to raise. I…. But her courage failed here. Her voice caught in her throat and she withdrew inside herself again. …tripped. Her chest heaved at the effort to even reveal where she was injured to an unknown varg, especially one that was called… healer? Amalthea held her breath once more.
