It seems to drag on for an eternity, but truly the battle is over within minutes. Wolf after wolf arrive on the scene, and it is not long before the bear is dead upon the soil. Lucero is unrelenting of his attacks and his determination, and when at last the wolf of white gives a hard tug and the Prince's jaws are upon the beast, there is give. The mated pair fall away from the bear, while the tri coloured wolf follows the movement with jaws close to the head. It would not due to be mislead by a creature so fierce, but it is soon obvious it will not be moving again, and the young wolf is content to pull back and access the scene around him. He finds the golden brother on his perch at the back of the beast, and chocolate eyes fringed with teal can only watch as ragged breaths grow weaker and the light in bright eyes dim. He does not know the wolf personally, but he feels his heart crack minutely for the male in these last moments of his, and gentle spoken words are all he can give.
"They are safe." It might have been too late and the words fallen on dead ears, but his gaze remains upon the golden one until he's distracted by the approach of another. It is the white female, mate to the red male- Ifrit and Everlyse Lucero can recall from words of his parents. He might have offered her words if the expression and simple body language of Everlyse been anything other than what it was. Silently does he step out of her way, content to merely watch as a curious eye moved back to where she had come. And there lay the bloody baron, broken and dead like his golden brother, and though they never proclaimed themselves pack and family, the young wolf looks upon them as so. He would mourn for them, as he would any of his family, and look after and protect what was theirs. An unusual patience for one his age turns back to the now redstained wolf as she made her way back to Ifrit with a bloody prize.
A heart was clasped between her jaws- the heart of the beast, and it is dropped beside the smattered skull of her chosen one. Silence hangs heavy in the air, and Lucero will not move away from the scene. A recent addition to the party finally catches his eye in the fourm of a young creme wolf- one with teal eyes. As the young adult watches his younger brother for the first time, he wishes to go to him to offer him something, anything, but his duty calls him. When Everylyse gives a soft, mournful sound only to die off on the wind- the young Prince takes up where she leaves off. On her last note does his voice rise high and clear to the heavens, singing of the tragic loss of the plains and what it would mean for all of them. They were all family, and they would look after one another, and he sought to give any nearby that cared to listen comfort in his story. He placed as many things as he could into his tones, and called for any to join him if they pleased in singing the eulogies of the red and golden brothers.
