Life had always seemed so transient before Vincent came to Moladion, wolves came in and out of his life like the tides, the only constants had been his work, his partner, and his boss. It wasn't an easy life, but it kept him busy, gave him purpose. Perhaps the purpose was a bit morally skewed, but it was a purpose all the same. But here, things were more... constant. He had a job, and it was something far more noble than he could have ever seen himself doing- Vince was, after all, anything but noble. And before he had gone from girl to girl, they had been all over him and he hadn't resisted. But he didn't have that desire anymore, perhaps this was the fresh start he needed. Fate had finally kicked his ass into gear.
Vincent couldn't stop his tail from wagging at her reply, his features lighting up noticeably.
"Really?" he said, a smirk tugging at his broad muzzle.
"Well, I.. I share that sentiment, doll." He cleared his throat, embarrassing himself with the words that might be a
little too affectionate. Though Spirit brought out a gentler side of him, he was still the same wolf... whoever that was, really.
His ears flicked towards her as she answered his question, and he couldn't have stopped the toothy grin from spreading across his face as she spoke. There was something melodic, even calming about her voice- and to a trained killer, that was a new sensation in and of itself. Vince really thought that every part of Spirit was simply perfect, and he couldn't have found a fault in her even if he tried. Everyone had faults, and Vincent knew that, but to him his soul was without fault. Naive, perhaps, but that was what the imprint-bond did to him. He was past the point of rejecting it, not like he had ever really wanted to.
"That's a relief." Vincent said with a wink.
"Fate can be pesky like that, throwin' things in your face when ya least expect it, but sometimes it does good things..." he trailed off, easily able to change the subject when she asked how he was doing.
Vince gave a low chuckle, his fiery eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Always." he said.
"Actually, we brought a bear down not too long ago. In Asteraia." the brute said with a shrug of his broad shoulders.
"Bastard managed to kill two of our guys, but we got 'im, eventually. He'll be food for weeks now." Vincent grinned at the last statement, but it was clear he was disturbed by the deaths of his packmates, though they had never claimed to be he regarded them as such.
"We're a family over there, so it hit most of us pretty hard." Vincent glanced at Spirit, slightly distracted. Asteraia was once again at the forefront of his mind, and as such so was his desire to bring his soul home with him.
