Aplos Riverside
Moladion’s powerful, winding river...

Bodies like puzzle pieces, a bread trail to find me when I don't want to be found. Or maybe I do? I've been rampaging all night, making the body parts fly like birds. I started with the innocent girl by the water. She was easy enough prey but nowhere near the drive I needed to satisfy my hunger for chaos. She saw my ripped ear, still bleeding brilliantly, and came closer to inspect like she could help me. That's when I struck. She didn't have a prayer, didn't even put up much of a fight, like sacrificing her life could help me. Stupid, not giving me a challenge was the worst she could do for me. I took my anger out on her, ripping her to pieces until there nothing big enough for me to grasp anymore. And then I moved on, now bathed in blood but still oh so angry. Ani's face flashes before my eyes with every blink, driving me on. I marked her face, gouged her eye. I saw the blood but I couldn't tell if I hurt her eye. A part of me feels regret for hurting her since it's the last thing I ever want to do but a manical part of me laughs about it. Imagine Ani as lost as I am, with nothing but one eye to tell her where to go. Maybe then she could see through my perspective and understnad why I have nothing to lose but her. Children mean nothing to me, lineage means nothing to me. If she wants to pop them out and set them free, whatever, but I refuse to let another being into my everyday life. She's the only one I want there, the only one I 'll ever want there. I came across a family next and that was the real mayhem. I descended on playing puppies, just out of the den, and I tore them to shreds before the mother even had a chance to scream. She ran at me like a banshee then and that was the real fight. A grieving mother is no joke but damn, she soothed the hunger like a mother soothes a crying baby. She was just the fix I needed and when I finally tore her to shreds and scattered the pieces, I felt out of breath and more alive than ever. I finally managed to get enough dirt in my shredded ear to stop the bleeding. I can only hear a dull mumble on that side but I'm pretty sure it's not permanent. That would be just my luck, the half blind, half deaf son of Devil and Natalya, a real hero there. I move on after the massacre, knowing by this time that Ani's on my tail. The sun will rise in just a gew hours and I can smell whiffs of her sweet perfume like a teasing concoction. I close my eyes briefly, savoring it but I'm not quite ready, not yet. A soft whimper leaves my lips as I take off, the fresh blood already clotting in my dark fur. I'm sure I look like I'm more russet than black and gray by this point. I run until I get to a wild part of the river. The water rushes by, taunting me with it's ability to remain untamed. A part of me wants to run into the water and never return but I won't give up that easily. I won't take the easy way out. So instead I turn back to face the way I came, waiting for her to come becauase I know she will. She'll always come back to me, just the way it should be.
