The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

resumed from the craigs.

In his past, he had been told things that made him feel less worthy than anyone else. He wasn't completely male, or not male enough, or he was broken, messed up, wrong. There were a number of things he could tell her about the past, that this problem of his had led to terrible things. There had been so many strikes against the family on too many sides, and Mockingbird wished he had a chance to be better than that, but he does not believe it to be a possiblity. It was something he was forced to accept long ago, so he did his best. Only recently had he felt the need to try and re-affirm himself as a male, though he does not believe he can do anything aside from attempt to provide pleasure or the scratching of a certain itch, but.. now he felt differently on the matter.

With Riopat, he just wants to be close, to give her what she wants, no matter as to what that was. She wanted to go and so he would go with no questions asked on why. She doesn't need to tell him, though she had spoken of ghosts and this he can understand. They both had their own ghosts here, and it was funny in an extremely sad way that most of those ghosts of his own lingered with Glorall. Perhaps that was why he didn't really want to go after the place, why he had decided to leave instead of attempting to reclaim his birthright. It was dead and gone and he couldn't do all of the things an alpha was required to do. He couldn't create heirs, and that was a big thing in the whole ordeal. It was why he had tried to push Liah into trying..

But the past was the past and Mockingbird wanted to let go now that he had found Riopat. She was all that he needed now. All that he wanted. She made him feel a sense of peace and happiness he thought would never be his, and that alone was astounding. And he felt the tingles of joy through the connection from her after he had spoken, agreed to go and asked where to. She moved, much to his dismay, but stayed close and returned his kisses. It was a comforting and wonderful feeling to gain such affection, something he hadn't known he had craved so much until now. He wanted more, adored the feeling of being wanted around, of being, at least in Riopat's eyes, worthy for such attention at all.

He listens as she tells him that she does not know where to go, just away from Glorall and Diveen. Mockingbird nods to this, fine with her nixing those two packs from the list. But eventually they should have one, right? He isn't sure in what pack they could disappear, but he would be rolling it through his mind now that she had spoken of the matter, what was needed of a new home. "We will find our place in time." He murmurs to her, wanting to let her know it would be all right. He would do all within his power to make it so. He doesn't know all that she is thinking but he can catch hints of feeling from her still, and he knows there had been a moment of guilt, and then resolve. Mockingbird said nothing about it, he simply waited for Riopat's cue.

He rumbled happily at the licking to his lower jaw, lowering his face to nose at her cheek gently before she was getting up and away. He watched as she started towards a cave, and her words reach his ears and he rises from his spot and follows her, accepting of what's she said and planned for the day. They could probably make it to another spot, but why bother when they had the grotto not far from them? It looked like a cozy little escape from the coming storm, so Mockingbird was all for it. He entered the tunnel leading to the Grotto behind Riopat, thoughtfully watching the sway of her hips. He could still appreciate the view, right? Nothing wrong with doing that, though.. Riopat probably had an idea on his thoughts from lingering feelings. Connections could be a mixed blessing.
